Self admited chicken on roller coasters of any kind. I get a litte "anxious" on Barnstormer :rolleyes1

I have to try Everest at least once... so how is it? Mildly terrifying like Space Mountain.... nerve wracking intense as MS... or worse???

I have to ride it but I just work myself up into such a frenzy, is it that bad?

It is one of the smoothest roller coasters I have ever been on. You really have to do it at least once. Just imagine you are going on a train ride up the Himaayas, don't think of it as a roller coaster.

does it make that "chink, chink, chink..." noise? :scared:
Makes my heart race just thinking about it.

Just when you go up the steep lift heading into the mountain, but nothing like on Big Thunder.

Sorry to barge in on this thread, but is there a steep drop on this ride? I love RNR and Big Thunder, but can't do Splash. Will I be able to ride this?

My understanding is there's only an 80 foot drop. ONLY LOL did I say only? I am like the OP I have to psyche myself up to get on these rides. In fact I psyched myself out of Splash and Space Mountains. I love Big Thunder though and I loved RNR though I couldn't keep my eyes open in the wind LOL! I don't liek any drops even the Maelstrom and Pirates freaked me. I do not think I will be doing EE.

ONLY??? :scared1:

How high is the Splash Mountain drop?

I know I am laughing at myself for that only. :rotfl: Drops scare me. I made myself do TOT and it was the scariest thing I have ever done and will never do again!

Now see, thats the odd part. I love ToT! Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
But for some reason I get freaked out by rollercoasters.... I dunno, just do. :confused3

I loved it, but I love roller coasters, the big forward drop is easily visible from out of the so you can see if you want to do it. It is very smooth.

We just got back today form 8 day "world" trip and rode Everest last Satuday.

Hard to accurately describe and compare to others... very fun and the most "complete" coaster Disney has done... good theming, fun visuals, and various features (backwards, drop, etc.).

Intensity? I would really have to place it just below Mission Space for me. The backwards section really suprised me. It was by far the most intense section of the ride. Accelerates pretty hard and goes through a fairly tight curve section while accelerating backwards. The backwards section also lasts longer than I anticipated from the videos I had seen.

The ride is very smooth and the uphill sections "click" once with a jerk and then pull up the hill very smooth. The whole ride is very smooth... non of the sudden jerkiness of Space Mountain. The drop looks huge from the outside but doesn't seem nearly as extreme when riding. Seems like the drop progresses more smoothly than most so the sudden accelerating and stomach dropping effect are not eally there (at least for me).

To try and give some idea of how you might place it.... my wife loves Rockin Roller Coaster at MGM (by far her fav), but absolutely hates ToT. Doesn't like Space Mountain but really likes Big Thunder Mountain. Hates Splash Mountain (the drop) and won't ride Mission Space again because it disorients her too bad although she likes the ride.

She rode Everest and enjoyed it and will ride again, but she wouldn't ride it twice in a row (we had extra fast passes)... just a bit too intense for her.

Don't pass it up without at least trying it. Everyone should try this one at leat once.

Disneylifer explained it to a tee. Great Job!!

I think RnR is worst than EE. There is so much happening on EE that the drop really isn't that bad. There is no anticipation like on SPlash Mountain that the drop is coming. But the ride itself is intense.

Its an awesome ride   - you should all try it.

Well, you say you "have to ride it", so why worry about it? Hate to break it to you, but you're gonna die some day too... already worrying about that? :)

Thanks for the reality check Martin! ;)
That made me feel better.... I think?!?

Your a little ray of :sunny: Just kidding, your right, I'll quit whinning.

Rode EE two weeks ago, to me it's outstanding. DW though it to be intence.

Sounds okay. I am a ride chicken. I love BTMRR,SpaceMountain, and Splash, but hate TOT and have never ridden rnr. I actually enjoy the bumpy parts to those rides..so I dunno yet.
