On the road to Morroco

Ok, at the Marekesh...do the belly dancers only come out at night? Or is this an all day event? If we go for lunch, will there be a floor show? How does the menu differ between lunch and dinner? From the pics I've seen no one is eating with their hands...to my husband and I, that's crazy. Will people look at us oddly there if we dig in with our fingers?

At The Tangierine Cafe, how does the fare differ from the Marekesh? Do they have bastilla there?

the menu does change from lunch to dinner......we had beautiful plate settings and silverware......I dont think I would of liked to had eaten my cous cous with my fingers......I had grouper and my hubby had chicken brochette...
We have eaten at the cafe too and I (only my tastes and my hubbys) did not care for the lamb and chicken with sour cream on it......I am sure that other people will like it but for us .....nope...
They do have alot of pastry type foods for beef and chicken and also for the desserts......

Went for lunch in March and the belly dancer was out along with live music. And I saw no one eating with their hands. But if you did customers may look at you funny but the CMs would embrace you. They are all from Morocco and love to share about their country. Enjoy and do what you want.

The menu between lunch and dinner is much the same IIR. I've eaten at both and the menu seems to be similar, but smaller portions (and cheaper... because of that we eat at lunch more). I've never seen anyone eat with their hands for things like rice or side dishes. I usually love the shishkebobs and those obviously are eaten with my hands. The restaurants at WDW are about making the average visitor comfortable, hence the eating with forks and knives (same in the Japanese and Chinese restaurants). That's why it isn't done. Same with sitting in chairs.

The entertainment runs off and on all day long (they do take breaks,b ut I always see the bellydance and live musicians at least once while eating at any time).

Tangerine cafe is more Americanized in some of their choices IMO. They are more wraps and the like there as well. Definitely lighter foods. No bastilla that I recall (either the appetizer or dessert)

I have never seen bastilla on the menu at The Tangierine Cafe. Yet the lamb/chicken Shawarma Platter is wonderful-served with couscous, hummus & tabbouleh. And the lamb & chicken is drizzled with a wonderful tzatziki, not sour cream. Yum!!! It is our favorite place for lunch in Disney!
