What a great day we had!!!! We started with the Breakfast buffet here at Coco Key. $11.95 per adult , kids eat free.. Choices.... Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, Biscuits, gravy, toast, bagels, cereals, oatmeal, pancakes french toast, muffins, grits, juices, coffees, teas..... Very good and filling.
before heading out to Universal I went down to the front desk to check out the safes to store my laptop and IPad. There are not safes in the rooms so this was a good option. It kind of looked like a post office box that closed up and locked and I took the only key. All of my stuff fit easily. I had to fill out a little paper work and I was on my way.
Universal was busy when we arrived around 11am. We went straight back to Harry Potter and Grace and I got in line for Forbidden Journey. The line said 60 minutes, but we were in and out in 40. I tried the seat before going in and I fit just fine on the regular one. I did ask what would have happened if I had been too big. I was told that if I had gotten the yellow light, I would be in a modified seat. If I got a red light , I was out of luck. The ride was great, but not life changing. I also asked if I had needed a modified seat would I be separated from my family. The answer is no, as long as my entire family wasn't in modified seats we could be together. both seats on the ends of every set are fixed for larger. I couldn't see any difference.
The park was fun, but the water park here was calling us back....
I was not sure about the $19 resort fee here, but I now think it is well worth it. For my family it was $4.75 per person, per day for loads of cool fun. And when we check out tomorrow we can stay and play all day if we want to. So that is 3 days of water fun for a 2 night stay.
The water area was really hopping this afternoon. lots to do, good food to eat, great arcade. You can go in to get a drink or snack and charge it on your wrist band. They also have refillable cups for $9.95 to use during your entire stay.
The Water park does close at 7pm in the fall. But the main pool is still open and has a really cool fire feature I am checking out tonight. I saw it last night from our window. It looks like a giant fish tank with flames coming out of it. Not sure what that is about.
We had a big lunch at Bubba Gumps today, so we just had snacks for dinner tonight.
When we first got back here this afternoon we were all tired, but everyone perked up quickly when we hit the water. In no time Grace was dragging Stella around in the water just to tick her off. Grace even met a guy that goes to the same school she does.... How weird is that?
I'm going to head down and check out the flaming fish tank... I'll let you know if the fish are boiling.......
