Am planning out my dining for my next trip and am on the fence with the following places to dine. What do you think of these? Like or dislike? These would be for dinner. Also, I'm a picky eater, so it would be basic fare.

Spoodles
Grand Floridian Cafe
1900 Park Fare
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Garden Grill
Chef's de France
Alfredo's
Yorkshire
Sommerfest
Tony's
Plaza Restaurant
Sassagoula Floatworks
Kona
Mama Melrose's
Coral Reef

Very picky eater here too! Are there others that are definites or is this everything?

Just a few thoughts......

1900 Park Fare - some different food (but not much for the picky) otherwise standard buffet with nice salad. We go for the characters

Alfredo's - Yummy!!! Don't miss dessert

Sassagoula Floatworks - not great if you are picky and don't like seafood

Kona - a little tough on picky eaters

Mama Melrose's - average fare but good selection for the picky amongst us

Good luck

I'm looking forward to hearing the replies, because I too, am curious about some of the places.

Yorkshire - If it's the walkup Fish & Chips place in England - Pass! We love fish & chips but they had no flavor. We were so disappointed. However the pastries from France made up for it...

Tony's - We liked it, but we haven't gone back. Thought $20 for a bowl of spaghetti was absurd.

Sassagoula - That's the quick service at POR, right? We ate there quite a bit and thought everything was great.

Good luck!

I'm a picky eater, who likes the basic stuff (and no fish).

Mama Melrose and Kona Cafe are a couple of our regular restaurants. We enjoy them very much.

YSH, Ive been to 3 times now and always have an absolutely amazing meal there.

After not visiting Alfredos in over 10 years, I recently went back. My mother and I thought it was great. I do prefer MM though.

Forgot to mention that this is a solo trip.

The definites are:

Cape May Buffet (never dined here before, but have heard good things)
Concourse Steak House
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Tusker House
50's Primetime
Le Cellier
Rose & Crown
Crystal Palace
Columbia Harbour House
Casey's

Here are my thoughts on the places we have been:

Spoodles - is/was one of our favorite restarants anywhere. However, I noticed they have scaled back the menu and as a result I am afraid of what else might have changed.

1900 Park Fare - pretty good for a buffet. There was a nice selection and we liked it well enough that we are headed back on our next trip.

Garden Grill - our favorite character meal. The food is great and basic plus the character interaction has always been the best here.

Tony's - blah! We tried it for breakfast and it was boring and so not worth the money. I hear lunch and dinner are even worse. It is too bad because it really is a nice little restaurant with a great location. I don't know why they can't improve the food.

Sassagoula Floatworks - decent food court...nothing fancy. The beignets are too die for however!!!

Spoodles was fine, but I do not understand the allure of Kona. While I love Ohana, I thought the ambience at Kona was terrible. There is nothing to look at. Sort of like a cafetaria to me. Also, the food was just okay. I know I am in the minority.

There are lots of good choices on your list but for "basic" food (our family is the same way) I would pick:

The Yachtsman Steakhouse for sure. Great meals and service every time we have gone there.

Grand Floridian Cafe is lovely.

The Plaza is great if you want something simple.

Chefs de France - ask for a window table and people watch.

I'd do Mama Melrose in a second if it were for lunch. Dinner gets too crazy for my taste at the restaurants in the Fantasmic package.

JMHO

Thanks to everyone for their inputs. Any more?

Sassagoula - That's the quick service at POR, right?
Port Orleans French Quarter

Of the ones in your original message, I have only eaten at the Plaza Restaurant. I ate there on 12/14 for lunch on the dining plan. I ahd the club sandwich w/ fries, mushroom and barley soup and a chocolate shake. Man was that good!!! The sandwich is huge. It was cut in half, and each half was the size of a regular sandwich like I would have at home. Since it was a club, it was a double decker. My sis and I said we will definitely go back for this, but we will get one sandwich and split it, skip the soup and each have a shake or split a sundae (thye're big!). In fact, I think this will have to be a must do for every trip.

Commenting on the one's I have eaten at. If they are blank I haven't been there.

Spoodles- yes
Grand Floridian Cafe
1900 Park Fare- not as a solo imo, but to each his own
Yachtsman Steakhouse-no
Garden Grill- yes
Chef's de France-no
Alfredo's-no
Yorkshire-yes
Sommerfest
Tony's-no
Plaza Restaurant-no
Sassagoula Floatworks-some good stuff and some not so good
Kona-yes
Mama Melrose's-no
Coral Reef-hit or miss, I have had a great meal here and a poor meal.

I would add LeCellier to take the place of Yachtsman's- or Shula's if you don't mind spending the $$.

Sassagoula Floatworks - not great if you are picky and don't like seafood

are you thinking of somewhere else? The menu is pretty basic stuff and I don't recall any seafood

The first time we went to Disney I wanted to eat at Moma Melrosa's and weren't able to. I was excited that we were going to be able to eat there on this last trip. Beautiful restaurant, but the town I live in has an excellent Italian restaurant . Given the chance I would skip it and eat elsewhere..not that it is bad ...
