I usually don’t read the Disboards after a cruise-it’s too painful!!! All you happy people anticipating your upcoming cruise, it’s a bummer!

Seriously, though, in May after we got off he Wish, I didn’t read the boards(we didn’t enjoy the Wish much), but after the Fantasy in August (which we loved)I find myself perusing about once a week. I get excited for everyone who gets to enjoy a Disney experience, but it’s hard having to wait a year for our next cruise.
Anyone else feel that way?

Yes, it's always hard to wait a year for your next Disney experience. That's true for cruises and the theme parks. You are not alone.

Yes, these Boards are 1 of the things that gets me through between trips. Its why I've stuck around for 23 years, LOL!
We too were just on the Fantasy last month so it is still very fresh in my mind right now. Ouch! ;)

To try to get over the feeling of having to wait a year till the next cruise, my wife and I started to do two, seven day Disney cruises a year. This was all before the pandemic. It was nice because we would see many of the same crew we saw on the last cruise and became friends with several of them.

Then we started to realize this was getting very expensive so we started to alternate between Disney and another cruise line to save money.

Coming here is nice because it even tho you may be waiting for the next cruise you get to see what others have done and think, that looks like something I might like to do on our next cruise.

I'm having similar feelings, but it's because after 25 years, we booked our 2nd voyage on the Magic for this coming January. So I started reading this forum regularly to learn about how things work now, and in addition to being eager for our coming voyage, I want to book another one already!

Once my cruise is completed, I take a six month break from the boards. We cruise every October, so in two week from today, I'll be on the Fantasy - so I am currently psyched up and on the boards quite a bit. But yeah, after the cruise is over, I give it a rest until my next cruise is getting close and I have cruise fever again!

I take a break from the boards after all of my Disney trips - DCL, WDW or DL. I'm usually only on the boards if I have some kind of a trip on the horizon.

Many of us love our travel and time away. Maybe try shorter cruises so you can go more often?

DW and I also did not care for the extended time frame between cruises due to the Level we became accustomed to so we jumped Cruise Line and now cruise more frequently in the STYLE we became accustomed to.

I made a deliberate choice to give DCL a break simply to experience other cruise lines and the way they do things like boarding, disembarking and all the online booking and check in procedure.
I switched to Princess which I loved, and yes I did find all those things easier with Princess. I was Platinum with DCL and I suppose had just got used to the one perk which I loved, the no need to choose a boarding time, and was disappointed when that went for us. I’m still disappointed but after sailing three times with Princess I’m ready to cruise again next year with DCL, and as I’ve decided that my preference is for smaller ships I’m back to The Magic x 2 cruises in April/May.
Then I’ll re-evaluate again. I may try to get to Pearl( 5 more) or switch back to Princess or try something new. Seabourne, Celebrity? Cunard? Never say never!
I still love reading posts here though regardless.

OMG, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this! We had a post-pandemic spurt of a lot of cruises in a short period of time to make up for lost time and also because we were pushing for platinum. Then we got off our last cruise and didn't have anything else booked. I had gotten so spoiled -- I couldn't bear to open the disboards when I didn't have anything to look forward to! We eventually caved and booked something else and so now here I am haha.
