Hey! Back on the boards since the last vk. Economy stinks as we all know but I am determined to get my guys back to DW.
Booked at POR mostly because I like the food court and not planning DP (no tip/mug etc.... whats up with that change!!) Love the pasta station with shrimp etc.
I have the 40% code from a mailing from DW.
Anyway, we spent one night at AS after a horrid day in the ER with DD so not a great memory but thinking it was just the day. I think it is time to rethink the values. I am a bit of a foodie but I am satisfied with good tasting food for a good price. Will I find that at POP?

The food court at Pop is way better than Allstars...they have a good variety and is larger than Allstars too. The food is better too in my opinion. We stay at Pop every visit..went to Allstars 1 time and said never again.

pop has the best food court of all. we stayed at POR in aug. first time there since 2007.. we were really looking forward to the food court. it changed.:sad2:
It would have been great on the DDP. but out of pocket? not so much. everything was pricey (except, of course, burgers.) oki, they did have a fish basket that was good, and reasonable.
but I think you would be happy with pop's food court.

was your 40% a pin code? if so, I would use it for pop.
we, too got a 40% off code and thought, well, you save more with a mod or a deluxe... BUT>. the room codes for the general public give you 40% anyway for the deluxe. (not sure what it is for the moderates? 30% or similar?)
but that pin code is the ONLY way you will save 40% on the values! (the room only discounts for the public are only 25% for the values) so that is a great way!! to stay on disney property for as cheap as possible!

ps, you mentioned the pasta station with shrimp. haven't tried it yet, but I heard the Shrimp Lo Mein at pop is great.

Pop food court is awesome!! I could have eaten the chicken penne alfredo every day of the trip, so glad I tried it!!

My mom and I stay at the POP everytime and we love it!

There is a nice variety in the food court both for breakfast and lunch/dinner. On our last trip we even saw some Cast Members making custom meals for people :thumbsup2

For our trip in October, I told everyone that they could pick one place to eat. My daughter's boyfriend picked Pop Century for breakfast. It's his favorite meal in all of WDW!

POP has the best food court followd by POR in my opinion. DH agrees with me except he prefers POR over POP. We both agree they are the two best food courts in Disney. My only complaint with POP is it seems to be more noisy with kids.

Will you have a car? Possibly eating offsite? We love Logans and it not too far from Pop. When exiting Pop turn left to Osceola Pkwy turn left again. Pass I-4 and turn right after Gaylords Palms. 1/4 mile it's on your left next to Publix (grocery store). On Mon-Wed they have a special of 2 selected meals (over 10 to choose from) for $13.99. They have 6oz sirloin with 2 sides. For additional $6 you could pick an appy and 2 mini desserts to go with it. Also another place was House of Blues between 3-5 for 1/2 price appys. Pizza and wings for $5, a good sized garden salad for $5 (regular price but was still a nice size) bigger than any of the resorts TS restaurants serve. Oh another thing about Logans wonderful yeast rolls. So good. We took the extras back for breakfast the next morning.

One more thing, I am in the minority but I don't care for Pop,3 different meals I found too salty. Least AllStars offer freshly made salads.

We found the POP food court to be pretty good, I think more variety than POR. You will save alot of $$ staying at POP. We love POFQ but the $$ is a big difference and we found POP just as enjoyable, we are hardly at our resort anyway so why pay more?

Staying at Pop in Nov. with the free QS dining plan. We haven't stayed at POP since 2005. Of course checking out QS options for our stay. How is the fish sandwich & the cheesesteak wrap( does the wrap have cheese sauce or slices of cheese on it)?
