On the 10/7 Dream Next Week - Hurricane Matthew????

Wasn't this one of the cruises that was on sale for Canadians? It would be disappointing to be from Halifax or St. John, hoping for a Caribbean getaway, only to be going back home for your vacation. Still, you could make the family Thanksgiving dinner.

While it is a long weekend in Canada, my guess is that a lot of touristy places will still be open and maybe more so, given the unexpected visitors. I doubt the Magic is the only ship to change course and go north this weekend.

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has any update on how DCL plans to address the issues with the Disney Magic going to Canada? I know they were backed up with a few thousand emails, so I expected a delay in response. I just wanted to know if anyone heard anything..

Thank you.

Well... which issues? I believe people who cancelled reported late last week that refunds finally started appearing. I honestly don't know if DCL accepted cancellations via email or if you had to call. I didn't hear of any other particular "issues" with the re-routed cruise to Canada. I suggest you call today if you have questions, as the lines will be extremely busy tomorrow and Thursday with new itineraries being booked.

Good luck!

We left NYC on the Magic Oct 7th which was rerouted to Canada. We did not cancel. However, we had a lot of issues with the ports, as well as a number of other things, that we were advised to contact DCL guest services via email. We sent an email but haven't gotten any response. I had heard they had approximately 5,000 emails regarding hurricane Mathew issues that they were still responding to.

I just wanted to know if anyone had heard back from them.

Sorry you had problems on your cruise. I haven't heard anything in particular about people awaiting email responses. While is generally fairly good about responding to email complaints, it's not usually a guarantee unless you are asking a specific question by email. I suspect they were inundated with emails related to Hurricane Matthew and people concerned about various cruises on 3 ships. If you really want/need a response, you might try re-sending your email; it's possible the original got lost in the shuffle.

Ok, thank you. I just received an update on the FB board that we would hear something by the end of the week.
