If I have MS make a split stay reservation, I assume they would make reservations at both resorts under the same reservation#. If I make the reservations online as two separate reservations (and #s), can MS later combine them into one easy to track reservation? If yes, would be a new reservation# or one of the old #s?

Thanks

It will be two separate reservation numbers. We do split stays often. It is my understanding that the reservation numbers are separate and will remain separate, not combinable, whether it is made on line or made through MS by phone . Enjoy!:goodvibes

To combine two reservations under one number, both reservations must be for the same resort and exact same booking category. And sometimes, the same booking category contains both dedicated and lock off units. If that is what you have, MS may not be able to combine those, either.

Assuming you mean "both resorts" meaning different resorts, "nope" is the answer to it all.

And others have laid out the extreme limitations even if it's the same resort.

So is there nothing Disney/MS does to try to link the two reservations together for DDP, ME, ???

If you are doing a split stay, you have to enter your arrival hotel for ME as well as your departure hotel and they drop you off/pick you up at the appropriate location. As well, you would need to purchase the dining plan for each leg of the stay, as it cannot be purchased continuously for separate stays.

No. I think there was a 3 or 4 month period several years ago when they started prepping for MDE that they tried a single travel reservation number that was used even if you had reservations at 2 resorts but that was ended pretty quickly.

Your arrival ME info will be on your first reservation and your departure on your second one. DDP will just be added to both reservations.

This is a great opportunity to do the DDP for the first half of your vacation and something else for the second half. You can do the deluxe plan and carry over credits until midnight of your check out day. You may need the second resort to apply the carry over credits so get a DDP print out prior to checking out from your first resort.

Yes, DDP is completely separate on each leg of a split stay. "Split stay" is an internet term. It has no meaning in Disney IT systems.

Nope. No need for that for ME. Just make the reservations for each part of your stay. And with DDP you might want them to let you use credits over the whole time but that's not possible.
