I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now and I am a little discouraged about visiting USF/IOA next month and not staying on-site.

I have already booked (and paid for) 7 nites at Cypress Pointe Grand Villa. I was looking into bumping that reservation back a couple of days and trying to get a 2 day/1 nite reservation at one of the onsite resorts. I see that these rooms only sleep four. Normally this would not be a problem as we are a family of four, but this time I am bringing my nephew. I cannot afford to book two rooms, so I guess that I am stuck. Or am I missing something?

We stayed last month at Portofino for ~220 (APH rate) plus $15 for extra person for a party of five. Reservation agent reccommended Portofino as having the largest rooms of onsite hotels.
We did just one night for FOTL but it was a lovely hotel.

we had five in the room at the RPR last year. We brought an air matress for the 5th person. worked out great!

We've stayed at the Hard Rock twice and RP once with 5 people in the room. When I booked they asked if I wanted a rollaway for an extra $15 I think. I told them no, we had a bed. We took our air mattress. This is one thing I wish Disney would do. A family of 5 is more limited in the resort choices at Disney.

Same thing here. We are a family of 5. Last year, we read about the air mattress idea on these boards. So, right before our annual August trip, we purchased a twin size one, packed sheets and a light blanket and headed off to the RPR for 5 nights. My DS (then 13) relished having his own bed, rather than having to share with one of his siblings. It worked out so well, that when asked if we should rent the roll-away for this August's trip, my DS said nope, he preferred the air mattress!

We found a hidden bonus with the air mattress. As we had purchased an air mattress with the built-in air pump, we could deflate it every morning. In the evenings, it took less than 5 minutes to fill it up again. This allowed us to gain the space back during the day that was used to set up the air bed. As the rooms are rather "cozy" (we love them anyway), we didn't have to trip over the roll-away all the time. And the price of the air mattress was far less than the cost of 5 nights of rentals of the rollaway @ 25.00 per night.

Hope this helps!

There are Queen size rooms in the HR which has 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa.We have one booked this year. The RP and the HR will also let you book a regular room but charge you $25 a night for a rollaway. The Queen room at he HR is $169 in August using the entertainment rate.

WE have one of those deluxe rooms at $169/night reserved for our stay at HRH,...but the rate has climbed to $215!
