On-site hotel early Harry Potter access

I just wanted to be sure that I understood the early entrance benefit of staying on-site.

During the time frame that I will be there, the scheduled park hours are 9:00AM - 7:00PM. We will not be staying on site.

Does this mean that we will be able to start riding Forbidden Journey at 9:00AM (and the on-site guests can enter the park at 8:00AM), or can only on-site guests access it from 9:00AM - 10:00AM?

Guests enter an hour earlier than posted times. So they would enter at 8. Regular park users will enter at 9. (usually about 15 minutes earlier than that, so be there early).

I would get there as early possible as there will be a line. As Damo said, they seem to open the park earlier for regular guests too.
