? on renting points timeline

I'm going to be in the market to rent DVC points at BWV for December of 2006. If I'm understanding the 11 month window correctly, would it be best
to post on the rent board in January of '06 that I wish to rent points?

I would start posting before that, because you will want to actually book that trip at the beginning of January for the begining of December.

January is fine unless you want a standard view or a guaranteed Boardwalk view. For early December dates, those particular room categories pretty much go on the first day the booking window opens.

Wouldn't hurt to post yor request in late November or early December even if you'll be happy with a Pool/Garden view, though. That way you can find a BWV owner with points to rent, and negotiate the terms. Then the owner will be ready to make the reservation for you when the booking window opens.

If you don't get a response right away to your request to rent points, continue to repost at least once a month. Many of us who rent points do not like to hold someone's reservation for 11 months, because we do not get paid for a long time after the reservation has been made.
