I wish I knew what was going on with me. I just got my 5th swollen lymph node in my armpit. I have been to the doctors 2 times. The first time, he just said don't shave your armpit  it's just an infection. If anything changes call. Well the next day, 2 more painfull nodes swelled up. And they were red! So I go back to the doctors only 5 days after the first apt. That was last friday. They said it's an infection, gave me 5 days of antibiotics, and said it should get better, and you shouldn't get any more. Well I got my 5th one yesterday. :furious: I wish I knew why the antibiotics aren't working, and why I keep getting more. They are painful.

Hmmm. I would definitely give your doctor another call. I get these from time to time, and I think they are little infected hair folicles. I have one under my right arm right now, as a matter of fact, and they are painful.

In my case, they tend to go away after a couple of days. If they didn't I would be concerned.

That's what the doctor said the second time, that it is an infected hair folicles. But why do I keep getting one after another? And yes they are very painful! Mine are on my right side too!

Maybe it is something about Vermont!

Have you recently changed deodorants? Maybe that is irritating the follicles. I find it happens more when I put deodorant on right after I shave. Have you stopped shaving for a little while?

When I saw the doctor the first time 8 days ago, he told me not to shave. Well, I gave in this morning! I couldn't help it, it had been 11 days since I had shaved that side. I will refrain from saving again if I have too! I haven't changed what I use for deodant for at least 6 months.

Have you ever done the warm soaks? Do they help? I only did it for one day, but if it's going to help I will do it again.

I forgot you were also from vermont! Have you been getting flurries today? It's finally cold here, and we have been getting flurries. I remember you saying your daughter wanted snow for Xmas!!

I have not tried the warm soak, as they don't bother me that much.

We woke up to a VERY light dusting this morning, and we have had a few flurries, but nothing major. There is a storm moving across the country, and I have heard a few weatherpeople say there might be snow on Christmas Day, so there is still hope. I did tell Emily last night while we were watching the weather channel (her favorite) that it might just be too warm for snow, and that even if Santa brought it, it might melt before she woke up.
