? on moving from one hotel to another and not taking up a whole day...

We come into Disney on Saturday Aug 25 and are at POP. Then we were offered the upgrade to OKW the rest of our stay. So I have to check out of POP on Sun and check into OKW. I don't want to ruin a whole day and we really want to be at rope drop for the Little Ones Magic Hour (that starts at 8am). Can I check in over the phone before we leave POP at 7:00 sunday morning and leave our bags at the front desk and get them when we come back to take naps or do you have any other ideas that will save us time? If nothing else I will pick a CM's brain when we check into POP on what they would do if it were them!

just thought of something else....do we have to check into OKW to get our tickets/free dining stuff since that is the 1st day of the free dining plans....yikes...I am going to call them!

OK...this is my best one sided thread ever . I called and they said to let POP know when we check in there about the move to OKW. They will arrange a shuttle to pick us up and handle our luggage and get us to our next resort. I asked how early we can do this since we wanted to be at the park by 8 for little ones magic hour and he said because we are on a package we could do it at Midnight if we wanted! I will talk to the CM's at POP still when we check in and if I am still up and kicking at midnight I just may have them take me over to "check-in". This is going to be exciting! Hope this awesome thread can help any others that have to move resorts during their stay

Ok not to rain on your parade but did you actually talk to OKW about checking in at midnight - my understanding has always been that you can't get your documents until the 6-7am hour because of the computer changing over night.

If I were you I would let POP take care of the luggage -- well wait - if you have a car I would just throw it in there and zip over to OKW early early on your way to MK to quick check in.

We changed resorts on our last trip. I didn't want to trust our luggage to get transferred so I hopped a cab with the luggage over to our resort first thing (and sent others to the park). It is doable; just need to plan lots of extra time at OKW so you can get to park at 8am.

No, I haven't talked to OKW and I take what I hear from the people that answer the phones with a big grain of salt. I plan on taking care of it when we get there since we will get to POP by 4ish and don't have any tickets for that day we have to hang around. We also won't have a car but the guy on the phone said that Disney would get us a complimentary shuttle to get all our stuff and ourselves to OKW...hmmmm...we will see

I am going to make sure I have everything on a time schedule to make it to the park by 8 am...this little hiccup won't ruin our day! I would send them all to the park and meet them but we can't get our tickets until we check into OKW since that is the 1st official day of our package. The 25th at POP is room only.
