I ordered a couple 2 year passes off their site for $150 each. (great price)

I noticed when they came in they were the actual passes - not vouchers. I became concerned that the 2 year clock had started to tick already and called to check. Yes, they indeed expired 2 years from the date of purchase - not first entry like Disney passes.

Not what I wanted because I purchased them early. When I called they said that possibly if I go to passport relations prior to entering the park they could change the date. Will try next week when I go and report back.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this!

When I first purchased an AP (years ago) they activated at first use - unless you elected to have the actual tickets shipped, the next time they activated on date of purchase regardless.

Last year I bought the tickets at the beginning of Dec, activated them on 12/17/09 & they now expire on 12/18/10 :confused3

I bought two of the two year passes last week too that I'll use for our trip in March. I got them just before I booked Dine with Shamu for five, as I wanted to get the $21 (10% discount) which they gave me. I also, received $50 additional off of a Sea World camp I booked for being a passport member (I had $200 off already for being a repeat camper and booking early -- so $250 off of retail price). I waited as long as I thought practical to keep the two years as far extended as possible, but from what you're saying passes won't be activated till March. That would be great!

UPDATE:
I went to the park yesterday. I had to go to Passport services before I entered the park and asked them to switch the date so they expired 2 years from yesterday. They did without an issue.

Are the passports you purchase online for anyone? You don't need to live in Florida? We are going to WDW later in the year, and wanted to purchase an annual passport so we could visit SeaWorld as many times as we wanted. TIA!

annual passports are the same for everyone, unlike Disney who has two tier pricing for annual passes.

you might be thinking of the fun card (FL residents only), which is good for the rest of the year and priced about the same as a one day ticket.

for the extra $30 I would buy an annual pass, since you get free parking. Make 2 additional trips and the parking itself pays for the upgrade. Besides they are now offering 50% off the second year is you buy it for 2yrs.

You can also order a Grover's passport from Sesame Place for $142 that gets you into all the Busch parks including SW!

That's a solid value, and preferable to buying a 2-year Platinum Sea World passport, but it looks like it must be activated at Sesame Place. If you mouse over the "Important Product Info" button, the pop-up fine print includes the phrase "Internet vouchers must be redeemed at Sesame Place."

If I'm wrong, please let me know. I could use two at that price. :)

You are correct - I received that email earlier in the year from Sesame Place. I was going to jump on it because we will be going to Bush Gardens also. Then I noticed it did have to be activated at SP.

Also - the Fun Card you can buy on-line is for FL residents only. BUT, I just came back and they have signs all over the park that you can upgrade your ticket to a fun pass for free at for everyone.

My DH and I already had passes - but I did it for my DD ticket.

I still think the 2 Year AP for adults is a great buy. Add into it the discounts we received on shows, free parking and merchandise and they are a a big win in my book!!

I've had my passport for 2.5yrs now. And i love having it. It's more than enough paid for itself. Just walk into the park once a month and it's paid for itself considering that parking is 12$ and on my ez pay plan i'm pay 14$ a month. And i'm locked in at that price too.

Last summer I was always at aquatica... at least once if not more than once a week. And it's so much fun just going in for a few hours here and there. Plus I got to do the member preview of Manta, I went one morning and rode it 6 times before the line built up. Of course I just rode it 5 times in a row thursday after work, the parks are that quiet.
