I was just checking disney's online reservations and they are now asking for post code or zip code. In Ireland we don't have zip codes, and if I try to enter IRELAND, it's too long and not accepted. Guess Disney doesn't want it's overseas visitors booking online.

I wonder if they're offering discounted rates for residents of certain states online now? Anyone ever get a special rate for being an overseas visitor?

Hello :-) Maybe I can help!

Even though it would be an overseas call, I would call to make reservations.

If you book online, Disney has restrictions that prevent you from cancelling without a steep penalty.

However, if you book over the phone, you will be able to cancel up to 5 days before your trip with no penalty.

Have you checked out www.mousesavers.com? They have great information about savings on resorts and park admission. I'm not sure about Ireland specifically, but it's worth taking a look.

The best discounts of all seem to be to Florida residents and annual pass holders. I bought an annual pass to save 50% on my room reservation.

Since I was planning on a 10 day trip, the annual pass paid for itself. It's the same cost as an 8-day park hopper ticket would have been, PLUS I got 50% off my hotel ressie.

There's other discounts, too, if you are not staying a whole week.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Amy- I would usually call to make the actual reservation, but I find it useful to check on-line for availablility and prices.

I'm a big fan of mousesavers - dont worry!! I'm waiting for some codes to come out for August before I book- not even sure if we're going to go or not, but fingers crossed something will show up soon. Flights are so expensive for us, it's great to get a break on the hotel rooms KWIM?

Thanks again for your advice,

If you are only checking for availability and prices on line why not just make up a zip code? Just make up an address and when it asks for city and state put in Baltimore, Maryland (MD) 21228. I use to live there so I know it is a good zip.

And then when it's time to book just call them on the phone.

REMEMBER WHEN YOU CALL TRY TO CALL 407 WDISNEY(407-934-7639) this is the CRO (central reservation phone)

try callin 7:00 am eastern std time
If the answering machine asks how many days to book put 1

when you get a live person
ask CRO

room only this is the only way to ensure the 5 day cancellation policy and full payment due at arrival.

Although I dont know the payment policy for guests living outside the US

good luck

Jack
