I received my “Things to do before you arrive” email for an upcoming stay. It says to use on-line check-in. Do I HAVE to use on-line check-in or is it just strongly suggested that I use it? I wasn’t sure if it was now a new rule that we had to use on-line check-in. TIA

It’s not required, but it’s strongly recommended. They want as few people going to the front desk as possible. And it makes the trip so much easier. You’ll get a text and email when your room is ready and you can then go direct to the room.

What happens to room requests that you made over the phone if you do online check-in? I don’t want to override those requests.

Just leave the requests section blank on online check-in.

Even if you do Online check-in you are still able to stop by the front desk with any questions or to verify any requests you have made before heading directly to your assigned room.

You won't always get a text message with your room number. For our last three trips (Oct, Nov and Dec), we only got a location for our Nov trip. In Oct, they were very slow in getting villas cleaned and ours wasn't ready until about 4:30. We got a message about going to the front desk about ten minutes after we got all our stuff out of the car and into the room. For our Dec trip, we got the message to stop at the front desk. They had determined that one of our magic bands wasn't working right and they needed to fix it before we could get to our room. Lucky for us they had assigned us to a building we despise because of the room layout in that building and were able to get a different building.
