On-line check in question

Has anyone ever used on-line check in and NOT received their room requests? I can't decide if I should do it or not. Also, do you think it decreases your chances of getting an upgrade? Just hoping for some pixie dust this trip =)

When I went in Feb I did online check-in. When I got to the resort, I had not received my request (I asked for a refurbished room by the lake). I stayed at POP. I asked the CM that was checking me in if it would be possible to have a refurbished room. She was great. She found a room for me and even managed to find a room next door that my friend could have - she was checking in the next morning.

I will do online check-in again this trip.

This past January I booked through an agent and had room requests. I checked in online and didn't request anything as I thought they should be on my request from the beginning.

We ended up with our requests being met!! We had the greatest room location for our family. DH was so impressed with me. Little did he know they are never guaranteed.

I did the online check in again with no room requests as I had already made some with my initial reservation. I didn't use an agent this time. I check in the Saturday, and I will have to see if they can meet my requests again (close to transportation, and main building). If not, I think it could be for various reasons on why not, especially due to the new renovations and not being fully done.

I wish you the best of luck. All you can do is try. I am going to call tomorrow and confirm what requests I have on my file and see what they say.
