I just did out on line check in for our Jan trip so when I finished I got this message

streamed line check in--show ID at resort lobby

is this the new check in procedure where you dont have to go to the front desk--that they text your room# and your magic bands will then open the door

with all the new changes in just the past year I feel like this is my first trip!!!!

We got the same message in November, but we got our room number while on ME and went there bypassing the front desk. We already had our CC on file and we had a package paid in full. We did have to go down to the front desk because DH's magic band didn't open the room door.

No, with streamlined check in you have to stop at the resort lobby just like the message said. There is a Streamlined Check In kiosk in the lobby with a CM there. Show the CM your ID and they will give you your room number if your room is ready. If your room is not ready they will text it to you once it is ready.

But it is still possible that you will be able to Bypass The Front Desk. Nobody has been able to figure out how they decide who gets to do what. Friends of ours were on the same plane, same ME bus, did Online Check In like us and we got to Bypass the Front Desk and they had the Streamlined Check In and had to stop in the lobby at the kiosk.
