I missed this back in July, but we had a similar problem a couple years ago. At the time I had only 2 places entered for payment...Chrysler & Nationwide. I got a call from our insurance agent stating that our payment was late. I went back & checked and saw that the money had come out on the date I'd specified. However, the bank put it into the Chrysler account instead of the Nationwide one. In our case, even though I had a copy of the transaction (I saved the page when I arranged the payment) Chrysler wouldn't give back the money. They kept saying we should just skip the next payment...ummm, yeah - more like the next 3! It was during a time when both DH & I were laid off from our jobs & money was extremely tight! There was no way we had the extra money, but no one cared...not Chrysler & not the bank.
As DIRECT PAY I'm not terribly impressed with that either! We had several of those that continue to fluctuate as to the date they come out - by as much as 10 days, so it wasn't the weekend thing. I'm sorry. When I sign for something to come out on the 15th I don't want you to decide willy-nilly to take it out on the 5th without prior notification! Needless to say when the situation wasn't corrected via a phone call, we stopped that!
