I know someone has talked about this before, but I can't find it.
I have never done this before. I have a flight scheduled with Delta. I can do on line check in the day before, but am not quite sure how it works.
Do you still have to be at the airport the same time before the flight? My seats are supposedly already assigned. Do you still have to go to the ticket booth?
Thanks.

You can print out your pass within 24 hours of your flight. It will have a bar code on it that you can take to the baggage area. Scan the bar code and it will print out your luggage tags. There will be someone there to help you if you need it. Then you can just proceed through security. As long as you're there at least 30 minutes before your flight, you shouldn't have any problems.

When you do online check in, it prints out your boarding pass and all you have to do is go through security if your not checking any bags. You never know how long secuirty will take for you to go through, so you still need to leave enough time incase it takes a while to get through.

Well, I live in podunk :) So our airport is pretty small... there isn't a separate luggage place, so I think I will still have to go to the check in desk to put my bags up?
sigh. I was hoping to avoid getting up at 0300 to make my 0600 flight....

crz4mm2,

Most of the time you still need to do that even if you do the online check in if your checking bags.

OK. Thanks. I will get there at least an hour before.... sigh

crz4mm2,

That should be fine with a smaller airport maybe even 1.5 hours just to play it safe. I'm the type of person, who can't relax for a vacation until I'm through security and know that I have plenty of time before departure, because you never know what weird thing could come up.

I mean to mention, in the second half of my trip report, that as we were leaving we found out that, even without having any interaction with the ME program previously, and really no intent to use ME, we were invited to check our luggage and get our boarding pass at a kiosk just outside the entry to the Wilderness Lodge. It was only open until 11:00 AM, though, but it worked out great for us.

We did this at the Rosen Centre Hotel last November. We were there for a conference (5 of us), and they had the kiosk outside the door (with the valet parking).

We actually stayed at the Embassy Suites, but dropped off our bags and picked up our boarding passes at the RCH on our way down to the ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord Palms (we had a flight later in the day).

We loved it!
