On-going trip report

Glad you`re having such a great time.

We love Jake`s too. Always our first night place to eat, as we`re too shattered to go very far. But it`s always lovely. Staff are great.

sorry to hear this is your last full day at the darkside.

when you leave, start making plans for the next trip there......

have truly enjoyed your reports to us.

So, I am in bed after a long day and I had that feeling that I forgot something. It was my daily report! How could I forget the last big report?

Oh well, I need to sleep since I am waking up early to visit the parks for a few hours before the flight home. Today I took a ton of pictures, which is totally not like me. I figure I will spread out the last report over a few days and include pictures. That should make up for not having much to say the past few days.

Oh, and I took some pictures of the menu. I hope they turned out OK. My camera is not the best, but I took a bunch of pictures of it so hopefully it will be enough to read most of it.

I will try and get the first part of the report up tomorrow night!

Well, I am finally home after a roughly 3 hour long delay at the airport. It has not rained in Houston in what seems like forever, but the one day we want to fly home, it rains for hours :rotfl2:

Oh well, I just want to go to bed after the crazy day today. Don't have time to edit/upload pictures. I will get at least part of what I have planned posted tomorrow.

Did manage to get to the parks for a few hours this morning. Will have a HP report and a big suggestion about the best way to handle HP based on our 8 days of visiting it tomorrow!

I've really enjoyed your report so far! Looking forward to reading the rest. Thanks for taking the time to share! Glad you had a wonderful time!

Well, the time has finally come for the last (multi-part) update! Sorry it took so long to get this posted. Orginally I was going to include the pictures right on this post, however, I took so many pictures (which is SO not like me), so I decided to just provide a link to the photos to save space and for people that don't want to see pictures. Please note, annoying timestamps are on all these pictures...and the date/time is wrong. I wish I would have noticed that before I took all these pictures!

The room we had was amazing (except for the pull out bed!). We were staying in King Suite room #3600. If you are ever getting a King Suite, I highly suggest this room! It is the first room on the right from the evelators and has an amazing view! It is also in Tower 3, which is very close to the boats. Click here for the view!

So, Tuesday June 21st was my last full day at the parks and I wanted to make the most of it!

I left the hotel around 8:00am and headed to citywalk to grab pictures of that new menu. However, eventhough the menu was posted under the sign for the restaurant, it was not the menu for the place! I posted in another thread talking about this dining "experince" and why I do not think it has a menu here.

After grabbing some pictures of the menu (which was pointless) I headed to IOA. I grabbed my favorite Ham, Egg and Cheese crossiant at the bakery and headed to Marvel Super Hero Island.

Hulk was the first stop. I am a big fan or roller coasters, but for some reason whenever I visit Universal, I do not ride Hulk or Dragon Challenge very much. Oh well, at least it was looking really good from its recent paint job!

After that I got to see something I want to purchase really, really bad. However, I am sure they cost a lot of money which is why they normally have three people guarding them. These bikes look so cool in person and have become another "hero" with people wanting pictures of them...at one point there was even a line just to get a picture standing next to one! After dreaming about how fun it would be to drive one of those, I headed to Dr. Doom's Fear Fall. I was on this ride like crazy. Since we stayed onsite, I took advantage of the express passes whenever I could, and Dr. Doom rarely has any wait for express. I would ride this 4 or 5 times in a row.

Spiderman was the next stop on the journey. This ride was hitting 60 minute wait times during the whole trip, however if you do not have express, I really suggest waiting for this amazing ride. Just like Dr. Doom, I rode this one a ton. Also, while I was there, I noticed that not only was the scene were you first see the water guy updated, the electric guy's scene was also updated. I know from reading your comments that in order to really notice the changes, you need the new glasses. However, you really can notice a change without the new glasses. The scenes are very bright, with a LOT of detail added to them. The colors really "pop". You really notice the change in the water scene. The water guy looks amazing and when you see him again later in the ride, you can tell right away that it has not been updated. If it is really true that new glasses are needed to see the whole update, I can't wait to see what it looks like becuase I am really impressed with the two scenes I have witnessed without the new glasses. Also, almost all of the effects were working the whole trip except for the steam that comes up from the ground when the electro guy shoots the water guy near the end of the ride. This effect never worked the whole trip. Can you tell I do not know who the people are in Spiderman :lmao:?

After Spiderman came Toon Lagoon. I only rode Dudley and Popeye one day during the trip becuase I do not like to walk around wet all day. As I mentioned in one of my other posts, I am done with Dudley. The seats are WAY, WAY to tight with the new lapbar system. They took a ride that was tight to begin with and added a lapbar into the mix just to make it even worse. Until something changes (which I doubt it ever will), I am done. It took me a whole minute just to get out of the log becuase of how tight the seats were. I started to think I would become a part of the ride becuase I would just be stuck there for life.

Next up on our tour was Jurrasic Park. The River Adventure needs some help. Some of the dinosaurs were not working when I would ride. The "box" effect's timing was off if you were in the 2nd car at the loading station. You would come around the turn with it already low and it would reset before you got underneath it, would start shacking, and then drop after the boat had past. Same thing with the big finally. The timing was just off if you were in the 2nd boat. Here is a video of the splash down for those that want to see it.

Now I am going to skip past Harry Potter for now. There is a lot I want to talk about (including some tips and rumors of whats to come), so I am going to create another post here in a few days. Remember, this is a multi-post trip report afterall :cool1:.

After Harry Potter was The Lost Continent Some work was being done to the water around here. As you can see from these pictures [ 1 2 3], the water had been drained. They also had work walls up near Mythos. I have no idea what they were doing, but it might have something to do with the HP rumor I will post later :rolleyes1.

Anyways, it was off to Seuss Landing, where painting was going on the whole trip! However, it the parts that were getting painted look better than ever! If you are walking back towards HP, they were only focusing on the left hand side. Nearly everything on the left had been painted. Here is a picture of a work in progress. As you can tell, the right side of the building has a nice fresh coat of paint, while the left side looks well, really bad.

I am going to end this update here! Part one included all of IOA except for Harry Potter. Part two will feature Citywalk and Universal Studios. Part three will feature food. Finally, part four will feature Harry Potter plus some rumors I overheard while exploring the parks for so many days. Hope you enjoyed part one and part two will be posted in the next few days!
