? on FD and upgrade to deluxe

Right now we have a cruise booked for end of Oct (non Disney) and its $3600 and another $420 due at the end of the cruise for tips. I got quoted $1948 for 6 of us for FD for 8n (value). Thats with 1 day base tickets b/c there is a chance I will get free tickets from my brother (he works for ESPN, owned by Disney and employees get free dis tickets). Even if I buy the tickets we would need, it would still be around $3K.. less than the cruise.


Still unsure what to do and only have a $400 dep. on the cruise (cancel w/o penalty until 8/12) and thinking of placing 2 rooms on hold for the FD and then deciding as the next couple of months go on.

My thing is I am thinking of upgrading to the deluxe dining so we can do 1 TS for breakfast and then skip lunch and do a signature dining for dinner for the kids.

If I book now with the FD.. can we upgrade later if we decide we want Disney over the cruise? THANKS!

If you're unsure of your plans, then definitely place a hold on the rooms you want with FD. You can upgrade to deluxe dining at any time- an upgrade on the dining plan isn't something that will sell out or have limited availability while you DO want to lock in your resort choice. Sounds like a nice dilemma to be in though- two great vacations to choose from!---Kathy

The more important thing is to make your dining ADRs now. Otherwise you may have a bunch of TS credits you can't use or have to use at places that aren't on your list of faves.
