On DDP, tipping question (NOT amounts!)

I was planning on using my Disney VISA rewards card and a Disney Gift Card to pay for tips and oop food (alcohol, appetizers, etc.) but am nervous after reading about inappropriate charges to these cards. Can I just use my KTTW card to charge everything directly to my room and then pay it off (via rewards and gift cards) at checkout? Of course I will keep a record of everything charged, and receipts, etc.!

Yes you can! This is what I do, usually. I put down the KTTW card for tips at all meals, but buy souvenirs and extra snacks with the CC or cash. You get a detailed print out at the end of your stay that you can compare to your receipts then go to the front desk to settle up. I like having just the restaurant tips on the KTTW card so it's easier to sort through just those charges at end of stay. It's also easiest to hand over just the one card at restaurants.

That's good to know. I hate bringing cash, and cash for tips for 14 days of dining would get to be a lot...

I was reading on an earlier posting about restaurants charging an additional "just in case" amount on both rewards cards and gift cards, and that may have happened to us in Aug. 2010. NO WAY am I double-tipping at a buffet; hard enough to justify regular tip when all they do is bring us water and the check!

I will put everything on my KTTW card, then pay when I check out via rewards dollars, gift card, and cc- in that order!

^This, and not just for the potential additional amount thing. It's just easier to use 1 card for everything. It also has better tracking and logging for protection. Also, if you lose the GC, you lose the GC. If you lose the KTTW card, it's replaced immediately.

You can even just put the rewards and GC down on the KTTW card and allow charging off those, without a CC, for those that like to do that sort of thing.
