Can you use the DDE card for the small icecream stands(Mickey Mouse bars etc./soda stands? If not, would my AP get us a discount for the small stands? Thanks

No, the DDE cards can only be used at some table service restaurants and at resort food courts that do not have table service available (the Values and POFQ). Here is a list: http://allearsnet.com/din/dde.htm

Your AP won't do you any good either. Here are the 2006 AP discounts: http://allearsnet.com/pl/apass.htm#2006

ETA: The DDE card is also good at some bars :drinking1 and at AK since there are no Disny Table Service restaurants in the park.

Sorry :sad2: , you can only use the DDE card at most sit-down restaurants, and some counter service restaurants. There is a specific list you receive when you get the card.

If you want to see the most current list check out allearsnet.com

I don't believe you get discounts for the ice cream with the AP either. I may be wrong, however.

Hope that helps.

When dining TS or ordering CS, do I need to let them know that I have the DDE card before I order?

You can if you want, but you could also just give them the card at the end of the meal. I've done both, no problem either way.

You will want to give it to them when you order your CS meal, of course. I never know quite when to give them the card at table service meals, though. I guess I will do it at the end of the meal from now on, although I feel bad about making them re-do the bill. One of the things I really like about the DDE card is that the discount is usually exactly how much I would tip (20%), so I just add back in the discount as my tip :).

Pretty sure the rules are to present the card when you order at TS although in practice I don't think it has mattered. I believe my husband usually just puts the card out with the room key to pay at TS.

The bill needs to be calculated again regardless to reflect the 20% off.

Yep I do the same- the 20% off is generally what we tip- unless the service is really fantastic then we up it!(or awful I suppose we would down it- but that has not happened at Disney except at a buffet once)

It really does not matter when you present the card. At times I'll present the card when I pay the bill and they always return with 2 bills, one non-discounted and the other with the discount taken off. I've also presented the card when I've requested the bill, I'll hand the card and my room key to the server and he can do out the bill with the 20% off. The card works great and is a great savings. For CS, most places don't take the DDE.

We always just give them the card when we are paying and don't say anything about it before hand. We have never had a problem except when we accidentally use it on the restricted days.
