hi guys,
Just wondering about buying a Mini DV Camcorder and it has a built in digital camera....I have to buy the mini dv because that is what we had before and all of our tapes are the dv's....so I was reading about one that is on sale and it has a slot for an sd card and it says it is is 1.33 Megapixel, so is that a good deal or not? Just wondering, any input out there would be awesome, thanks guys.

Buy a camcorder for video taping, buy a digital camera for photo taking. Don't buy a camcorder for photo taking and don't buy a digital camera for video taping. If you MUST have an all-in-one, then I suggest the Samsung Duo Cam. It has separate lenses:

I agree - I've read lots,

I want a new camcorder, and after consulting, and reading, taking suggestions, I believe that I'm better off getting a digital camcorder - but on tape not dvd, I think the technology will change again in the next 5 - 10 years!

I agree with the above posts. 1.33 MP will be fine for e-mail, but don't expect a great picture if you're printing it out...even for a 4x6.

I am no professional, but I was in the same boat. I just purchased the Sony DSC-M1. It's kind of pricey, but it is compact and will even fit inside of a purse. It takes MPEG4 movies with stereo sound and the digital stills are 5.1 MP. I basically love this camera with the exception of the price of the memory cards.
