We are making our first December trip this year and want to bring some Christmas decorations for our room.

We would like to bring a small artificial tree (not tabletop). For anyone who has flown and done this, how did you get the tree there? Did you check the tree in box and did it survive the trip?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, we take a few things along. This will be our second Christmas there, and one year we did the Cruise.

We take the girls stockings (Minnie and Tigger) and I pick small things up as stocking stuffers along the way. We already took those cling on window decorations also.

We did take a tree from our local dollar store and let the kids decorate it. Some come with ornaments or you can have the kids make some, like from disney coloring pages, clip art, etc.

We always take a nice dress for the girls to wear to our Christmas dinner, which is in the Crystal Palace. I keep a change of clothes in the back pack so they can change out of the dresses, and then we dont have to go back to the hotel and risk not getting back into the MK. (We like to be there Christmas day along with the thousands of others--lol)

As far as the tree holding up....its in a box and we just stick it in a suitcase with clothes. It dont take up much room. I am not sure how big a tree you want to bring, ours was about 2 ft and cheap at the dollar store. The box survived fine.

Someone mentioned awhile ago about the lights on the tree and fire safety. I am not sure if you need permission or not. We did not think of that before but we never got a note or anything telling us different. Of course we only had ours on while we were in the room.

Christmas morning there was a goody bag on our door for each girl saying Merry Christmas. The atmosphere is one we love! I love swimming (well, hopefully this year we can) while my family and friends back home are dealing with freezing cold temps and snow :)

Feel free to ask anything else. Id be happy to share anything I can with you. These boards helped me have many MAGICAL trips.

Take care, Stacy in PA

We saw Christmas lights in the windows at some rooms last year.

I wish we had thought of that! It looked so cute!:D

We took a 5ft. tree that was in a small box with a handle. I just checked it with the luggage. We did send down a box with decorations and presents ahead of time as well.

We stayed at the BWV's last Christmas and decorated the room up big time. Had a tabletop tree, magnetic window stickers and the best part was the multiple strings of lights we put on the balcony. You could see our room from all over the place at night. It really helped with the Christmas spirit. We boxed everything up and shipped it home, the decorations and lights we didn't box up we gave to our mousekeeper, she loved it. Have fun!!!
