We're on the west coast cruise in June. I want to surprise our sailing party and create an on-board treasure hunt. I'm thinking kind of a cross between the treasure hunts of younger days and the amazing race. Anyone done anything like this? Anyone have any ideas?

I'm thinking I could use some of the Hidden Mickey's - require each group to carry a digital camera to take pictures of themselves with things, areas, or CM's. I'm looking for other creative ideas... Help me come up with some fun ideas.

Find three of the following four Hidden Mickey's. Take a picture of them with a member of your search party.

Here are the clues:
1. Brave fisherman of yesteryear,
To honor them I wear their gear.
You'll see me as you board or leave,
There is no water up my sleeve.

2. I see you enter, I see you pass,
As Captain here upon the glass.
If shopping then, would be your pleasure,
Come on in and find a treasure.

3. Time for a swim - take a ride,
I'll lend a hand then, as you slide.
While in the pool I think you'll smile,
When you see my grand profile.

4. Up, up and away
On your way to play,
You'll see my gal and me
Looking outward toward the sea.

What do you think? To difficult? Any other ideas?

Those are not mine. Those are actual hints for the Hidden Mickey's. I'm looking for other things like this that I can use in a treasure hunt or amazing race type event. I could use some help here from some creative people.

Maybe somethingthing about the secret decks or anyhting else...

I'm not really familiar with the Amazing Race but how about looking for crew members from as many different countries as possible and the name of thier favorite native food or the name of a tourist attraction in their home area?

how about a race between the teams where you call for the elevator from deck 5 and have to get up to deck 9 and out of the lift and wait for another one and then get down to deck 2 without your team pushing any buttons and not asking anyone else in the elevator to push the correct button. You could do it like a relay race even and have team members at each place waiting for the handoff. Yea it may be a little obnoxious, but then you're not pushing all of the buttons like some people do. Be sure to use the mid ship ones since they get used the most.

What a great idea...You could also add in items from diffrent Ports of call that your at....like...Photo of one or more of the "team" members with a person in a swim suit...or a taxi driver... or a mail box or...well you get the idea. You could also add in items that they had to find and get...like postcards or some small souviner with the ports name...

On board I think it would be fun to add in things like...find some one (passanger not CM) in a Mickey/Disney related shirt/dress and take their picture....or get a picture with Captian Mickey or other named charactors (some are harder to find than others)...even get a photo with the ships captain.

Just some ideas...now I think I'm going to have to start working on a hunt for our sailing party in October.

Now...you've got me started.... I have a few more idea for on the ship.

1. Photo of Micky statue (easy one)
2. Pic of someone in Mickey ears (not the mouse himself)
3. Photo of the group doing the Mandatory boat drill
4. Copies of the personal navagator (if your doing the hunt the whole cruise)
5. A souviner glass
6. A photo of your stateroom door.
7. As many photos as you can find of others peoples doors that have the special made magnet signs posted on the outside....or narrow it down to just those with lime green mickey heads.
8. Find as many other "Dis" people onboard and get photos of them..with their lime green
9. Photos of diffrent places on the ship...like sign at Animators Pallate, Studio Sea, Treasure Katch, Scoops, All the pools... and the list goes on.

Monstro...what have you started!!! I know...they can try and find me!

That would be awsome! Something like find the person wearing the green Mickey Lanyard near the Goofy Pool. Then you could give them their next clue... :)

scrapperjill: Thanks! These are great! I'm planning this as a morning activity for our party of 19 on one of the sea days.

CM MOM: Same.... I love the idea of finding different CM's from different countries.

Right!

Monstro...I was wondering how long you were giving everyone...Wasn't sure if you were giving them "the list" when they boarded or that first day and having it go through out the cruise...or just for an afternoon one day. I think either way would be alot of fun.

I was thinking by doing it the whole week...then doing a recap back at home would be a fun way to remember diffrent times on the ship...but I can also see everyone having to much fun aboard doing the cruise thing...that the "hunt" could be forgotten about. But just a fun afternoon or morning activity....is a nice way to see the ship...and spend some time.

By the way....I'm still thinking. Are you looking for hints and clue type things...or just a list of items to collect or photograph?

Pick me!! Pick me!!

You need to have them get character autographs....the one with the most autographs from different characters by the end of the cruise gets a prize....

We have a sailing party of 19 across 6 families from 3 different states. I'm looking for somehting everyone can participate in .... a fun morning or afternoon event. I think it could be fun to do for the whole cruise, but I think the kids - everyone for that matter would lose interest. Plus hanging with your team the whole cruise?

I like your ideas. I'm working on turning them into hints. Hints hints we need hints...

Here's one for the Internet cafe
