Does this type of "deal" smack of desperation, though, on DVC's part?

It seems to me as if they are really trying to sell-out SSR ASAP. Perhaps to be able to make their announcement about KTR?

Yes, thanks it was Amil!! What was I thinking! Too much sun I guess!

The guides were very busy selling to new members as well as doing add ons with current members. The new member incentives were equally as aggressive. They even had a closer from DVC on board which they have been doing for a month or so, to do all the closing documents right on board so there would not be any lag time. Normally from when you initially gave the deposit until they Fedex'ed the closing docs you had a week or more. Trying to cut back on BUYERS REMORSE cancellations!

One couple did cancel between the deposit and closing while on board. The hubby took the dues and mutiplied it by the number of years and decided he could go on lots of vacations with that amount of money.

Well yaaaaaaaaa, your essentiallly buying a piece of property! Just like buying a second home, you will have taxes and maintainence, insurance , etc.. The difference being we have over 500 different choices for vacation!!

Over the ten years that we have been members they have always had some incentive to make the deal sweeter. So, I think under the current state of the economy they are taking the necessary steps to keep sales moving by adding a few more sweetners .
