Hi,
Another dumb question from a newbie - I see talk about onboard credit, which I assume is some type of credit that you get for booking another cruise while on a cruise.
This will be my first cruise - I am going with my sister who has a different last name as me - all the reservations are in her name, although my documents have my name. If I wanted to reserve a future cruise - say for me and my hubby and my two kiddos - can I do that? What if my sister wants to book too (not in our room!). How does that work?
Also, what kind of deposit is required? Is it a percentage or a set amount?
Thanks!!!
Carol

Hi Carol - If you book on board for a 7 day cruise, you will receive a $200 stateroom credit. The deposit is $250 per person. I believe the deposit for a 3 or 4 day cruise is $200 per person and you would receive a $100 credit. We booked another cruise for next year our second day on board. It only took a few minutes, and they transferred the reservation to our travel agent (Dreams Unlimited).
Happy Cruising...

Anyone who is currently on a sailing can book for a future cruise and get the credit. It does not matter who's name is on the current reservation. There is a DCL reservation agent onboard and she has a sign at her desk for the hours that she is available to book your future cruise. I believe she is on Deck 5, midship.

Unless things have changed since my last sailing in late Oct 2002 onboard credits, if you book aboard, were determined by the category you selected to purchase. If I recall correctly $200. onboard credits were offered for booking a category 9 of better. 12, 11, 10's were $100.. Credits are per stateroom.
I also believe that a $250. per person deposit is now required for all cruise booking with DCL.
