We are about to head out on a 4 night cruise on the Dream and are considering booking the 3 night that departs the day we return to port.

Is this something I can do on-board (that is given that they have availability and we can agree on price)? Has anyone had any luck doing this?

TIA

Are you asking about booking the next cruise from the one you are on? As in making it a B2B? Yes, as long as there is availability, you can do this.

Hi- I would love to hear how this works out. We would love to do the same. I called the reservation line a few weeks ago and asked if it would be possible to rebook the b2b leg on our future cruise. To sum it up they said no but she did not sound sure or give a real explanation as to why not. Hope it works out well!

Do you already have the second leg booked? If so, rebooking means that you would have to cancel the existing reservation (with penalties) and booking it again with the prevailing prices. Usually not a good idea, as prices are probably higher now then when you first booked.

not yet. we are tossing up either a few days in Florida prior to our cruise or just doing a b2b. If we could, we would essentially get on the ship and go straight to the desk once open to rebook for a 2nd leg on the boat.

You certainly can do that, as long as there is availability (and a price you can live with). Now, it's possible that the next cruise could be sold out, and you wouldn't be able to. Have a plan B if you can't do it.

@Hotdogdance will let you know how things work out for us. As of right now they have rooms available on the ship, but the price is more that I would like to pay ($2815 for a category 8D - a little over $900/night) for a family of 4. The availability on Disney's website has been up and down (been checking daily). We'll see what they have when we get on the ship and if the prices are any lower booking on-board.

I am really hoping this work out ... we'd love to do the additional 3 night!

Fortunately we are driving and have take off work just in case ;-)

I would doubt that the prices would be lower onboard. Unless there was some sort of really last minute *GT offering.

I'm not certain that Onboard Booking perks are available on booking the next cruise (making a B2B). But I could be wrong.

i don't promise to be an expert on Dept Homeland Security but I have read several times the cruise lines needs to submit their passenger lists 72 hours prior to departure. Just make sure you're there on Day 1 of the four day cruise. By Day 2, the ship's passenger list may be closed, even if there is room.

remlap -- thank you for this tip on Homeland Security, I was wondering about that ... will hit up the future cruise desk day 1!
