On a search for a healthier me.

How did the driving go?

I did this new walk, sclupt and tone video.
60 minutes, and it was actually really fun.

I'm asking for a hula hoop for my birthday that way I can hula if I don't have time for the wii. Lol.

it went pretty well actualy...
no freeways though it was too foggy.
I'm terrible at stopping though haha.

She bought SIX TWLEVE packs of soda.

And a bag of Cheetos, Hot Cheetos, Potato Chips, Barbecue Chips, and Barbecue pringles.

What the heck!
Before she left I told her, 'No junk. Healthy food only!'

She said, "Okay!"

I see no healthy foods.

I think thats a really good goal! I think its better to go by how you feel about yourself then the numbers on the scale.


Okay I need some motivation to get off my lazy butt and go for a jog.

If I set a goal for myself, I'll become overobsessed with trying to reach it and do better. I've had weight problems in the past that I'd rather not revisit.

I've actually become really obsessed with my weight. I feel bigger than the scale looks. I'm 5'3 and 120something now, but I feel like an anvil - Short and wide.
I'm ALWAYS checking my weight on a scale. I haven't been on a scale in weeks and it's killing me.

My weight keeps going up and down. It's freaking me out, actually.

I realized I don't want to lose weight. I just want to firm up my stomach and lose the (icky!) flab on my legs. I can also sense love handles coming. Yikes!

If I did just that, I will be totally happy.

Do you weight yourself at different times every day?
That could be the problem, you have to weigh yourself at the same time because your weight changes throughout the day.

If you don't like what she buys, you should go shopping with her.

I just told my mom to write down strawberries on the grocery list and yogurt so I could make a couple smoothies this week. Maybe write down specific things? If that doesn't work then go with her.

Alright, so can someone explain to me what is so bad about carbs?
I always read about people going on low carb diets, but I eat tons of bread, pasta, and especially rice and it doesn't seem to have any effect (affect?) on me.
I haven't really read up on them...

I guess its just that carbs are harder to burn off then other things. You need carbs exspecially as teenagers. I honestly don't know whats sooo bad about them but my mom avoids carbs like crazy.

Honestly, I'm not quite sure. I'm pretty sure I knew at one time, but I forgot :rotfl:

I did try a no carb diet once and it really did work. I stayed on it for about a week and lost about 2 pounds. The only thing is that carbs give you energy, and by the end of the week I had NO energy. I just felt weak. So, if you decide to cut carbs, I recommend only cutting them out a little, not completely. I'm sure if you cut them down a bit you'll still have energy to exercise, but you'll still get the benefit of cutting carbs completely.

Now, I'm not an expert or anything, but that was just my experience.
 
No, I'm not thinking about cutting them out.

I've just read and heard about how they were horrible and I never knew why.
I love bread (I eat whole wheat stuff though) and rolls, pasta, and especially rice. (Mostly brown rice.
I couldn't imagine cutting it out.

Carbs are also known as sugars. You need these, they give you energy. There's simple carbs (found in stuff such as fruit) that are easy to digest are usually something like glucose or fructose. There's also complex carbs which contain starch (found in stuff like pasta, bread, rice, etc). They take longer to digest and slow down your metabolism, but they're good for oyu. You need them for energy. And they're tasty too.

For a total of 29 minutes of running
Plus 5 minutes of advance step arobics.

And the wii said i gained 2 lbs after running!!!

Which my mom promptly told me ins't possible to gain 2lbs in a little over half an hour when your sweating...

Wouldn't it be more likely that i would lose weight??

I unlocked free run on the wii and did not reach my goal of 5lb weight loss in 2 weeks so now i have a goal of 2lbs in 2 weeks.

Your weight changes, and don't forget that gaining muscle can make you gain weight too.

I don't really think that weight just comes off right as you're burning calories.
I always thought it burned off over about a week.
Plus you're gaining muscle in your legs and stuff.
That's why I only weigh once a week and only everyday on the wii, which I think it's stupid anyways. It's completely off all the time on my weight.

I always set my goal for a pound and I've only made it...like twice and ended up gaining it all back the next week even though I really didn't. xD

I'm lifting 5lb weights while doing the free walk but skipped today because my arms hurt really bad yesterday.
Skipping leg workout tomorrow because I pulled a muscle in my heel and can't do forward bend poses right now and my right calf is killing me.
So onto abs tomorrow.

I work out about 1 hour a day during school with a few less or skips here and there and I still gain weight and lose it continously but don't really gain any noticeable fat. Don't worry about it. :hug:

Anyone have any tips for drinking more water during school?
I take a water bottle and can finish it but I refuse to fill it up at the fountain as people have their mouths all over it and stick gum to it and it's nasty.
I don't want to haul around 3 water bottles either.

Also, anyone have the My fitness coach for the wii?
I'm thinking about getting it with my giftcards, I've only heard good reviews about it.
It looks interesting.

If you can, leave a few water bottles in your locker.

It's pretty good too, you put in all your data about yourself, and she'll recommend what you shoudl focus on, and then you can use the calendar to choose when you'll work out and how long you will.
It's got relaxing music and you can change the difficulty of the workout.
 
As a bit of a note, the Wii does tend to fluctuate weight in short periods of time.. mine have bounced around 3 lbs from before and after workout... Of course there's water weight to balance in and stuff, but I'm just saying.
