On a positive note... what do you think is the best thing about Disney?

I really think this is a great site and I am really excited about our very first family trip and look forward to reading these boards to plan and I use them to satisfy the excitement that I feel. Things have been so negative lately that I would like to look forward to reading the boards again.

So... please share your favourite "thing" about Disney, whether it is a movie, a moment from your trip to WDW or DL or your favourite moment on a Disney cruise.

Lets get the "happy vibes" going.

 :smooth: :D :earseek:  :sunny: :earsboy: :teeth:   :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jester:  :smooth:

My favorite thing is the MAGIC that is there. Not everyone gets it but I was a "chosen" one. ;) I love the Castle. I love the bright colors there. I love the happy people, excited children.
I love Disney movies, old and new. The pixie dust that Tinkerbelle has in her wand on TV. (I know you might be thinking:rolleyes: but it is true.) I love Main Street and the rides--old and new. I love the fact that you can stay on-site. I love...

It would be quicker for me to answer what I do not like. ;)

I agree. Even though nothing is 100% perfect WDW is as close as it gets for us. It is the most relaxed my DW gets and to me that's worth the world!!!

I choose not to use terms such as "pixie dust" or "the Disney magic"....however.... I do think a lot of people get the same feeling while at Disney World, no matter what you want to call it :) For me, it's being able to totally forget about everything else while I'm there. Disney World is so engrossing, in a positive way :) I also have very fond memories of my mother and I going to WDW when I was young :) :) :)

By the way: Even though I don't like to use terms such as "magic", I definitely "get it"... I love Disney World and that's why I choose to keep going back :) So far, there's no place else where I feel the same way as I do at WDW. I do believe that many people just don't get it... they don't see what's so special about Disney World. All they see is the $$$ they're spending, the long lines, they feel the heat and humidity, they notice every little thing, their own children get on their nerves while there, etc. That's a shame, but it also shows how differently people can feel while experiencing very similar things.

Count me in as one to finds the magic there. I can find it everywhere at Disney. Sure everything isn't perfect, sure I'm human and have real life problems. Luckily I have a husband who understands the magic too. We didn't end our last trip under the best of conditions (note to self - don't try and make the in-laws happy it doesn't work) but he suggested we go back for some holiday magic. I can't wait!

To me WDW is always magical, but the magic is even greater at holiday time.

Happy Holidays!

The walk down Main Street..... for the first time each visit.... it just takes your breath away.

Taking in the atmosphere waiting for a parade. Feeling the excitement and watching the faces of kids seeing things for the first time.

Our trips are always long enough that we can do what we want to do, and also take the time to relax. Look around you. Notice the names on the second floor windows on Main Street. Notice the hidden Mickeys. Talk to CM's. Talk to people from all over the world. Ride the train. Take the boat whenever you can, instead of faster transportation. Trade pins. Eat a Mickey bar. Spend time in the MK at night. See Illuminations. Twice.

Ok, I'll stop now. Can you tell I love Disney and don't get there nearly enough? :D

It's the only place that lets me forget everything in the "real world" the entire time I'm there. And best of all is it makes the holiday season bearable! However, being a student this year, we won't be going. :(

Sea Spray,
You may not call it "magic" but I can tell from reading your post that it is the magic of Disney that you feel. ;) Just as Walt planned... :)

I'd have to say... Us. What one other thing that you can think of can join so many different people together as Disney has? It gives us a sense of belonging to each other and to them.

Walt Disney created something inside of me long ago. Sunday evenings were spent with Walt, us kids, and popcorn.
Today I am able to share this with my own kids.

The best thing for me, no cooking, making beds, doing laundry LOL but the best part is you forget all the things that don't seem so happy in your life and you just relax. I can't pick one thing I like better then the next, I always get enjoyment whenever I step off the plane. :D :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Oh my gosh...I just LOVE these threads!!!:) :) :)
There is no way that I could choose just one favorite thing. I think, for me, rather than "a ride" or "a show" it is the whole feeling that I get as soon as....well...as soon as I start planning a new trip!!!!:p Whatever you call that warm wonderful feeling, be it "magic" or something else (I like "magic";) ), THAT is my favorite thing!!!! Because there is nothing like "magic" to brighten your heart and make you have the spirit of a child again!!! And having the spirit of a child is something I reach for each and every day!!!

My favorite thing about Disney is how no detail is spared. Everything, right down to the cracks in the sidewalk are PLANNED! I like to use the example of one of our first trips to WDW. We walked into Epcot in the morning and there were purple flowers in the beds at the entrance. We went out to another park at noon and found the beds empty. When we returned later that day, the beds had yellow flowers in them. If it freezes and some of the plants get hit, they post signs apologizing for the "unsightly" jack frosted plants. It used to be better than it is now. EVerything used to be kept imaculate at all times! On one trip, I accidentally dropped a tissue on the floor in the restroom. Someone scooped it up from under the door with a little broom before I could even bend down to pick it up!

My favorite thing is that we are there as a family. We spend most of our time together and everyone is usually in a good mood.

We are making family memories that will last a lifetime:D

That comment about family is interesting. DH and I noticed after several trips that we never fight, even the least little disagreement, in WDW. And my sons are both grown now, but I have the greatest memories of going over the years and watching them grow-how on different trips they wanted to do different things as they grew up. Next year we're going on one, last (probably) family trip, to OKW and then to FW Cabins, the first place we ever stayed (actually back then they were Trailer Homes, not cabins). We'll re-live as much as possible (what's still in existence). Can't wait!

These are really great to read. Your messages on your disney faves are great!!! Keep 'em coming...

The best thing is that I am able to get away from all the stresses of reality, and focus on spending time with people that I love, in a wonderful place. :)

I love the music, sparkling lights, fireworks, and the general feeling of "togetherness" that I feel while at WDW.
