"On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair" (DL/So.California TR) LOTS of pics!

Loved the crowns and the shirts are totally cute. I wish DD was into the princessy stuff. But she isn't. Never was and probably will never be. Thats ok. But that stuff is so darn adorable.

I have one princess and one who wouldn't be caught dead in pink. The one who wouldn't be caught dead in princess stuff comes home from her highschool band trip to Disneyland with a pick crown. Huh who would have thought it?

I think I'm actually more into it then they are. :rolleyes1 They could take it or leave it. I on the other hand love the Princess stuff. princess:

Well, I did some errands today. Went to the Disney Store and finally found a tee for Adam. It's okay. Like I said, it's hard to find clothes for a 13 year old boy that aren't too cutesy. But I like it, and he said he'd wear it, although only at Disney. :rotfl:
I'll post a pic later.

And we stopped at the Dollar Tree store to get some ponchos. (2 for a $1) They are a must for the Grizzly Rapids ride. I don't mind getting wet, but that ride gets you soaked!! Drenched in fact.

Last time, even though it was warm, it took forever for the kids clothes to even start to dry and their socks and shoes never did. Lindsey's feet started to peel from being wet so long!

We actually had to leave the park and go to a near by Target and buy new pants, socks and shoes. I don't want to have to do that again so that's why I'll make sure we have ponchos. :thumbsup2

I'm also bringing some flip flops that we bought on sale at Old Navy for them to wear while on the ride so their shoes don't get wet.
I would just let them wear the flip flops the whole time, but they prefer their sneakers.

Anyway, it's fun to do all this kind of shopping and preparation. :cool1: I can't wait to actually start packing!! :yay:

I had someone suggest that we use smaller plastic bags on our feet to keep our feet dry. You mught try it.

That might work too! I'll keep that in mind for when it's cooler, like in October. This trip I think it will be warm enough that flip flops will feel good. :thumbsup2

Beth--love your PTR and the girls' new clothes are adorable!

You know about the free lockers by Grizzly River Rapids, right?

That's true I had thought bout that. We are going in the middle of September and I know it can still be hot that time of year. And depending on when you are going in October it can still be hot then. Here in Fairfield we often have a hot Halloween and the in November we start to cool down and then have our rain. It is a rare thing to have a measurable rainfall until after Halloween.

Hi Cheryl! Thanks! :goodvibes
I do know about them, but of course I always forget until afterwards. :headache:

Yes, I remember some Septembers and Octobers that felt hotter then summer!

You probably could! I've seen your pix from your report! I buy size XL 14/16 all the time so DD5 and I can have matching clothes! :rotfl2:

lol. :rotfl2: I never thought about it! Shoot, I'm going to try it!!! If they don't fit me I'll send them to you!! :yay:

Beth, I tried to find the "twice as fun" or whatever, shirt at our (closing) Disney store yesterday but all they had left was L's..... I was so bummed. :rotfl:

Ugh, one of the twins got sick tonight. Poor thing. I feel so bad for her, and I'm hoping it's just something she ate and not a stomach flu! But I don't know.....she felt really hot to me so I'm afraid she's sick. :(

Darn, I've been working so hard to try to keep everyone healthy. Taking vitamins, washing hands constantly, cleaning everything with Lysol wipes and spray.

I just know how much we are all looking forward to this trip and the thought of not being able to go because of a stomach bug is just so frustrating. Well, all I can do now is wait and hope for the best. We still have a few days to see what happens.

Wish me luck, and good health for the whole family! We need it........

I am sending healthy vibes your way. Nothing worse than somebody being sick on a trip to Disneyland. Been there done that.

Sounds like a fun trip. I want to hear more so count me in.
We have six kids (but only one at home) three grandsons and we haven't hit 50 yet, so I can understand what a family of six is like! Thank goodness our next trip will only include one (or two) of the clan.:goodvibes

Thanks. Yep, we've been there, done that too. Only it was in WDW and 3 of us ended up getting really sick, including me. Ugh, that was a nightmare and after all that planning, time and money to get there, I remember crying that I just wanted to go home!! :sad2:

Ever since then I get panicky when it comes to vacations and illness.

But she's seemes to be ok. (knock on wood!!) She slept through the night, and although she felt hot to me this morning her temp was normal. She insisted on going to school even though I told her like 20 times she could stay home, so off she went. So far no calls from the nurse to come get her so I'm hoping she'd doing better now.
