Omgosh! The Crowds!

Hey Kayla's Mom - we will be there the 23rd to the 29th and we cannot wait! I have been nervous about alot of the crowds talked about on the DIS...every time I see a post about someone going the same week as us I think "oh my gosh, it's going to be so crowded!" I hope it is not busy as we are just not used to it! :goodvibes If you see a crowd of 15 walking around, say HI!:yay:

Hi there! :wave2: We are so excited too! I am sure we will be ok at least on the weekdays. Have a great time! :)

off topic...but on the subject of winnie the pooh...
the winnie the pooh ride at WDW actually has a fastpass (although we didn't see the machines on while we were there.) crazy.

Yeah, but the Pooh ride in WDW is actually pretty GOOD. I'd wait in line for that one, but definitely not for DL's version.

I guess I just assumed it was the same. How are they different?

Oh NO!! I was planning on going Friday the 15th! So I should be ready for big crowds? I was just going to go after school until closing. Should I postpone?

It's a cute ride, but I wouldn't wait either. It never draws the crowds the Country Bears did. I never went to a show where it wasn't a packed house. Such a shame they took them out.

So I just watched a youtube video of Pooh at WDW and it wasn't that different. There was no black light at the beginning at stuff. And the flood scene was moved to the end. It didn't have the birthday stuff at the end at all. I feel like the one at Disneyland has a better flow/storyline than the one at WDW. Plus the ride vehicles are way cuter at Disneyland.

Sorry...I know this if off topic.

I know this weekend is presidents weekend but what about next weekend (21-24)? Do you think it will be busy?

I've heard many say that it will still be crowded because a lot of kids have the whole week off for a winter break. Rooms are hard to come by for those dates. We will actually be there the 20-24, I'm expecting it to be very busy, at least Friday, Sat, Sun. I'm hoping Wed and Thurs will be manageable, but I guess we'll see.

We are also going the 20-24th... I booked are rooms late December..but when I called to confirm the other day the lady said that they shouldn't be that busy..whatever that means..she also said EE or MM is everyday but Wednesday and Sunday... I must be confused..becuse we changed all of our PS around the EE..anyone know?? We are staying at DLH this time and not GCH.. so I included walki time in with the planning...but now seeing others say the MM days are differnt...

Didn't make me feel better! I'm going this weekend! :sad1:

Just go as early as possible and start grabbing FPs for any ride you want to ride as soon as you can. Have one person in your party be a FP runner, so you don't have to drag all the kids around with you everytime it's time to get another FP. Do MM and hit the FL rides as early as possible and get them done, because later you may not be able to get on w/out a long wait. If I were going at a really busy time, I would set aside one day to watch the parades, F! and fireworks. That way, during the rest of the trip while everyone else is rushing to catch these attractions, you can almost walk on any ride.
Kick back, relax and enjoy the day. If you can wrap your mind around the fact that yes it may be busy, but you are on vacation in the Happiest Place on Earth, then maybe you can keep it in perspective. You can make your own fun. :yay: Going at the busy times requires a little more patience because it's all a series of trade offs, but you can still have a great time! We always go at one of the busiest times of the year, but we still have a fantastic time!:cheer2:
Just refuse to let the crowds and rude people get to you, and you should be fine. (Yes sometimes there are rude people in DL, just as anywhere else in the world. They are the ones who forget that they are in DL, lose their minds because it's busy, and start running people over with their strollers, cut in line, start screaming at their kids because they're losing their mind :scared1: etc...) I refuse to let anyone else ruin my fun no matter how busy it is and how rude they are.:wizard: I just look at those kind of people w/ a lot of empathy because they don't even realize that they are ruining their own vacation and potentially ruining others' as well.:sad2:
You may have to do more people watching, and wandering around looking at DL sights, snacking and eating churros  to kill time in between rides and FPs, but you're still in DL :woohoo: and that beats the heck out of being at home working like the rest of us sad sacks!:dance3:
Have fun, you're going to Disneyland! princess:

Well, I'm back! Monday and Tuesday were much nicer. Monday wasn't nearly as bad as Sunday. Lots of school kids were out, but there was actually room to move around the parks. Tuesday was awesome. Crowds were down, we got dreamed twice (fastpasses and ears) and just had an overall great day.

We heard the stars were out in full force over the weekend. Rich (CM at rope drop) said he saw Johnny Depp, his girlfriend and kids, Harrison Ford and Callista Flockheart, and I saw Diane Keaton (I see here there a lot!).

For those of you going this President's Day weekend, try to not be overly worried. I have a feeling it won't be as bad as the weekend I just experienced, and here's why. All the S. Cal and Deluxe AP's are blocked next weekend. I think that forced them into making the trip this last weekend (that and the weather was gorgeous after having two rainy weekends in a row). This will really help keep the crowds down. It won't be quiet by any means, but I would bet you won't see a 30 minute que for Pooh! ;)

I booked my room just this past Friday. Since I could easily get into any hotel I wanted I had hoped that at least crowds would be a bit lighter. Granted you always have to take into account local visitors mid-week if there are school holidays. However I though most kids had this week off - not next.
