OMGOSH Kobe charges DROPPED!!!

I dont like her, him or Kobes wife

YA she got cold feet from not being able to keep all her lies straight so she backed out LOL.

Thanks for the link Binny!

I'd heard that her attorneys filing the civil suit a couple weeks ago was a sign that they didn't think the criminal trial would go forward, but then it seemed to be going forward. .

Sounds like the prosecuters really messed thnigs up. . .

I don't know about that LisaSt. . . . Bryant's statement seems to hint that if the officials hadn't screwed things up so royally, she may have had a case. . .

Kobe said:

"First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure.
I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case.

"Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way that I did.

"After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even hearing her testify in person, I now understand how she sincerely feels that she did not consent to the encounter. . .

Full statement

Some how I get the feeling the civil trial will be settled long before it comes to trial. .

Interesting stuff. .

I think Kobe is just trying to save face with his wife and team it wa likeley a prepared statemnt by his publicist to make him look better. I am sure the 2 had sex and it was consentual but she wanted more or even money from him after and he denied her that. Some people will do just about anything to get what they want sad as that is and I think this is one of those times and it backfired on her.

Well maybe Darren but it looks more like a semi-confession to me. .

I could be missing something, but why would anyone apologize to someone who falsely accused them of rape??

He did it to look good in the eyes of the public and his fans. And if she comes out and says "It's not about the money, I just want him to appologize" then he has done it. Personally, I think that it was consentual, mainly because of the evidence leaked that she had another partner wither right before or more likely right after. It is hard to bring a celebrity up on criminal charges, especially when the celebrity has more cash than most all of us here combined. That buys a lot of good lawyers, and they can drag stuff out, and make it very hard on the prosecutors. ALthough in this case the state made several critical errors on their own.

I don't care for Kobe either, but I don't want to see anyone taken advantage of. Imo that's what this girl was trying to do. I believe she had a motive all along.

When she saw the spotlight was going to be on her NUMEROUS sexual partners and other parts of her free sexual lifestyle(which is quite skanky) she dropped out.

Do I feel sorry for her NO I think she got exactly what she deserved.

Hmmm...interesting. If she were as upset about the incident as she says and was prosecuting, I would expect Kobe's apology to fall way short of her requirements. It seems to me that, if she was accepting of this apology, she is ALSO accepting it as an understanding that she knows that Kobe didn't see it the same way she did and, therefore, is not guilty of rape in the sense she was prosecuting.

In the end, if everyone would just keep their damn pants on, none of this would be an issue.

Micheyfan I couldn't have said it better myself. As I said it was for him to save face and look good in the public eye this way he looks like the good guy for coming out with a statement that says sorry and aknowleges (sp) what he did was wrong and he may end up getting some sympathy from others for doing so. Do I think he means what he is saying NO I believe it is for publicity and public acceptance but hey when you have that kind of money you can do things like that.

I thought he was inoccent all along. He was wrong but it still was not rape. She told to many lies, had stained underwear thenight in question. I wonder what the ceelphone calls were about. Also supposably she wrote a note that said she was going to do this to Eminem prior to Koby.
