Omggg why do I choose september

I still don't know why they want us to buy bleach.

From someone who has lived through hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods along with tons and tons of hiking, I can give you the answer for bleach. Eventually your bottled water will run out if you are stranded. If you have only water that may be contaminated (rain water, lake water, etc) you can purify it using household bleach. Add 2 drops per liter, stir well, let sit for 30 minutes, drink. :)

Not as tasty as filtering and boiling, but definitely less time and resource consuming.

That makes sense. I mean, we've never in my memory been in a situation where we would actually resort to such measures, here in Orlando, but hey. It never hurts to be prepared, I guess? Just in case every road is closed into Central Florida and we are suddenly unable to procure bottled water. But if that day came, I'd probably have many other things to worry about, too.

Edited to add: I'm not being flippant about the severity of an actual major hurricane. But the likelihood that we would need to bleach our water because if a water shortage in Orlando is much smaller than, say, the coasts or south Florida. We are told to have enough water for several days, and that's definitely an important supply to have on hand!

I recognize that you're not being flippant re: water, but it can get pretty ugly when resources are low. I remember observing fistfights over water and a gun being pulled at a gas station after Ivan (skeeedaddled out of there pretty quickly for sure!). Just moved and transferred about 6 cases from house to house cause you just never know!

Don't Worry, Be Happy!!

You cannot, and believe it or not Disney cannot control the weather.

DCL will sail, maybe from a different port if a hurricane is hurtling towards port Canaveral.

You should probably should have purchased Trip Insurance. And when we cruise during this time of the year, we only pre book DCL excursions, because they will cancel / refund money if you can't make it to an excursion because of weather, and some island vendor will still charge you even if your ship does not make it to port.

Be Flexible!!

Traveling this time of the year is an adventure, so you have to be mentally prepared for changes (even at a moments notice) and not have your heart set on a particular activity. Make Lemonade out of those weather Lemons.

And don't take your frustrations out on Guest Services or the Crew. Job number 1 is to keep you and everyone safe.
