Omg!!

I actually looked long and hard at McCain this election because I agreed with him on a large number of issues. But the moment Palin was picked, I instantly shut off that venue. Obama was not my first choice but he zoomed to the top of my list once Sara was in the picture. As for what's coming to light now, I do put a large amount of credibility in those that have worked with her and for her in this campaign.

Why do you put a large amount of credibility in what is being said about her Rick? Is it because you don't agree with her on her beliefs or do you know something as fact that we don't know about? I guess she got to be governor of Alaska because all those uneducated hillbillies voted for her.

My opinion is based upon her actions, her words, her beliefs, her politics, her methods. And with respect to what those that have worked with/for her, I put some level of credence to what they say because they worked with/for her. They are only supporting the opinion I already had. Simple as that. I'm a strong believer in the idea that when one person thinks you're a jerk, then that person is the one with the problem. When everyone thinks you're a jerk, then you're likely a jerk.

ETA: And no need for you to get snarky. We're all entitled to our opinions, you as much as anyone on the DIS should know that. As long as that opinion is stated without any direct offense to any other poster, it's all good.

You said the "instant" McCain picked Palin you were done. What did you know in an "instant"? Who is everyone that thinks Palin is a jerk? You are generalizing and doing exactly what the OS gripe against when anything negative is said regarding Obama. I think your bias is showing, and you are not being objective at all. That is my opinion of course.

What is considered snarky is in the eye of the beholder.

Here, I think it is in the eyes of those who make the rules.

:rotfl2: Yeah, you're right about that. I guess I shouldn't be challenging a mod, huh? Let me crawl back to my corner for daring to ask a question. Seems that's to be the new rule of the land.

Snarky.....snort.:lmao:

OK...Frankly I fault McCain, period, for even picking Palin.

Secondly Palin could have turned it down however I think she just did not understand that you have to actually "know stuff".

I will bet they told her that they will help her, blah, blah, blah.....she fell for it and now she has to throw them under the bus.

That part should be easy since McCain supporters are much like Bush's, scarce.

You will see her again and she will be a force to be reckoned with if she chooses to go forth.

I'm betting that she may get that career in communications she originally was shooting for....
national politics....not so much ( unless it is a Senator from Alaska)

See, this is what I mean. It's hopeless. I forgot again. Obama and Biden are the smartest men on the face of the universe, have never misspoke, missquoted, gaffed, or heaven forbid, been wrong about something. I think the reason John McCain got as close as he did is BECAUSE he chose Sarah Palin. How on earth can I forget that the MSM is also the amazing Kreskin, and they know exactly what Sarah Palin knows, and what the MSM, Jon Stewart, David Letterman, and all the lib papers report is the gospel truth. Ooops, wait, I shouldn't have said gospel. Can I say "God's honest truth"? Nope, can't say that either. Let's leave it at truth then.

They've all gaffed. I think it's impossible to talk as much as they have over the course of the campaign and not say some stupid things. The difference is core knowledge. McCain gaffed many times but we're not accusing him of not having the core knowledge necessary to be a world leader.

IF half of what they're saying about Palin is true, she was woefully unprepared to be in a world-class position. I don't think that can be reasonably disputed.

I'll say it again. Palin demonstrated on multiple occasion that she has a depth of knowledge on a wide range of subjects. The problem she ran into many times as actually knowing more than the media. When the media heard from her something they did not know or something they did not understand, they immediately plugged it into their preconceived narrative that she's not smart. And, like they say, if you repeat a lie enough times, it becomes true.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

There is a difference between making a dumb slip and not knowing about NAFTA and thinking Africa is a country! This woman was almost VP.

No wonder they kept her away from the press.

I'm curious, are either of these items captured on tape anywhere or are they just "leaks". I don't care if you like the woman or not, I find it hard to believe that someone in her position doesn't know what Africa is. IF this happened, and it is a big IF, I would give her the benefit of the doubt and say dumb slip. ...Just as everyone is willing to do for Obama's state slip.

The woman can't be that ignorant or she wouldn't have made it to Governor, let alone VP candidate.

Yeah, the GOTCHA media again. Like we were all dreaming the last few months.

Give people some credit for seeing exactly what they saw and heard.

I do not feel sorry for her one bit. All those hateful things that spewed out of her regarding Obama. It was just horrible.....You reap what you sew…. I guess she now knows how it feels to have people spew hateful things about you.

That's embarrassing for a governor.

No excuse for her, but you'd be surprised how many people think Africa is a country, especially teenagers.

The election is over. Your guy won so why does this even matter anymore??:sad2:

Quite frankly, because there are some (on these boards even) who are already looking for this woman to run for office of the President of the United States of America in 2012. Seriously. You can't make this stuff up. :sad2:
