OMG!!! Wolferman's English Muffins

Ok....so maybe I'm just late to the party and y'all already know about these muffins......but can I just say that these are amazing.

We received a beautiful Harry and David Christmas basket.

It contained some great snacks, goodies, treats and tasty things to eat. Included in this basket were two four-packs of Wolferman's English Muffins. (Cheddar cheese and San Francisco Sour Dough).

This struck John and I as an odd selection to include in a Christmas basket and in all of our years dealing with Harry and David had never seen or heard of this item. These muffins sat on our counter for two days and were discussed a couple of different times.

The other night, we were snackish as bedtime got closer. We decided to try one of the English muffins.

I have to share that we thought these were freakin awesome. They make Thomas's muffins look awful by comparison.

Needless to say that all eight muffins are now long gone. They were used with tuna melts and eaten with just butter.

They are thicker than regular English muffins and when toasted get a crispy outside and a nice, soft, chewy inside. I'm not usually an English Muffin fan but these were really, really good.

In looking at the back of the packaging, I found they have a website. I bet you can guess whats coming next.......more Wolferman's English muffins are on their way to our house.

I'm not usually an english muffin person either but those do look good. And so far Kevin's track record of recommendations is pretty good so I may just have to try them.

Hmmmm, wonder if they sell them at the Harry & David stores? Might have to brave the Christmas crowds and stop by to see.

We get them in our christmas stocking every year and for some reason they always mess up our order and when we call to correct it they cannot take the old ones back so we get DOUBLE!!

I love love love the Chocolate Chip, Blueberry and the Original's but I bet the Chedder would make a great Burger Bun!!

Funny. Last month we got a catalog from Wolferman's. I thought to myself, an English muffin catalog? Seriously?

And then I tossed it in the trash. Guess I shouldn't have.

I have a story about Wolferman's English Muffins.

Dana's (DW) grandfather lived in Maine until passing away in his upper 90's. Dana, her sister, and brother always struggled with what to get her grandfather for Christmas. Now he was an old man, very smart, former academic, very set in his ways, and had a set routine he would follow every day. Every morning he would have an English muffin for breakfast. Dana's sister thought Wolferman's English muffins would therefore be the perfect gift for their grandfather. They all chipped in and purchased a gift basket. Dana's grandfather opened the present to which he said, "English muffins??? I can buy those at the grocery store. Why would you get me English muffins???"

So that gift went over like a lead balloon. Oh well, they tried. It's always the first thing I think of when I hear of Wolferman's English muffins.

Oh, yes...

As our ever-expanding waistlines will surely attest, Wolferman's English muffins and Harry & David's "royal riviera" pears have been a delicious part of our holidays (and beyond) for years now. Both are incredible.

Throw in some Moose Munch, and Wolferman's tea cakes and it's "good eats" until the new year.

I think Harry and David and Wolferman's have merged businesses, or at least started some sort of relationship...

A coworker buys them at Wegmans, and also raves about how good they are.

Combined with some Harry & David fruit spread, that would be a great breakfast or anytime treat.

My mom's been giving Wolferman's as gifts for more than 20 years. WOW! I knew about something yummy before Kevin! They are good. I like the scones and the crumpets too!

Thats interesting that they are sold at Wegmans. I will have to keep my eye out for them. I am kind of sad that we only got Plain and Cinnamon Raisin. i would like to try some of the other flavors.

I got a variety pack fro Christmas 15 year ago? Muffins? English muffins for Christmas. Yuuummy!

They sell some at our local grocery store, but not the fantastic variety.

Watch out, though. They are BIG! One must count as "four servings" if you are calorie counting.
