Yeah!!! Just booked our flights!
My hubby and I are taking a short trip to US/IOA (our first)... without the kids! I am so excited, it will be our first solo vacation in at least 8 years. We are only going Mon to Wed, and are hoping to maximize our park time. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Here is the plan:
Mon (May 3): SW 7:10 AM flight out of ISP, arrive MCO at 9:45
Pick up rental car (we have Alamo, looking for a good rate somewhere else). We plan to go directly to the park and check into the hotel when we return in the evening. Hoping to be at US by 11:30, stay until close. Dinner at Motown Cafe. Check in at hotel (Quality Inn, 1 block from Universal), and probably crash.

Tues (May 4): Continental BF at hotel, be at IOA at opening and stay until close. Lunch at Mythos, dinner at Margaritaville.

Wed (May 5): Continental BF at hotel, be at US or IOA at opening, stay until 1:30 or so. 4:45 flight out of MCO.
What do you think? Will we be able to fit in most of the rides/attractions? Are we allowing enough time to and from airport? Anything else we should consider? TIA

It seems to me that you've allowed enough time to get to and from the airport and since you're visiting on weekdays, you should be able to get everything done. We're arriving the day after you but we're travelling with the kiddies. Just couldn't pass up the recent SWA airfare sale. Have a great trip. :Pinkbounc

Awesome! My BF and I are in our 30s (no kids), and we just got back from a great trip. It's the perfect place to go sans kids!

It sounds like you have a great plan. Don't forget to utilize Express, and you should be all set.

Have fun!

Sounds like a terrific trip! My dh and I had a wonderful trip w/o the kids. Our favorite souvenire was a drawing of the 2 of us by one of the sketch artists:p

You plan will work since you're visiting early in the week. May has light crowds because it's after spring break and before summer.

Going to USF on the 3rd is a good idea, try for a Mummy ride. Most attractions take 30 minutes because there is a pre show, and then the show/ride itself. If you only visit USF on the 5th, you won't be able to see everything.

For IOA, you can see most attractions in 3 hours if you're there when the park opens.

The parking garage opens at 8am, be there at 07:45am, and there will be a line of cars waiting. An early start makes a big differance in your wait times for the morning.

Thanks for the replies. Been crazy busy with the Easter holiday, I finnaly got a chance to get back to the boards, whew! Have booked airfare, rental car, hotel (changed to Fairfield Inn), and have tickets. I think we're all set!

If that's the case, would we be better off doing IOA the 2 half days (Mon & Wed) and US all day Tues.? I really want to maximize our time there, is one park more crowded on a particular day? Also we really want to ride the Mummy ride, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for that. TIA.

Congrats! You will have an awesome time. Bring us back a trip report!:D
