someone on ebay is charging $24.99 for series 1 hidden mickey pins that is just wrong i also noticed the same seller is selling space mountain room , the 3 free magic pins, HM suit , space suit green hat tiara and pink princess hat for unbelieveable prices

I can't believe VMK allows people to sell these things on e-bay :confused3 It seems really ridiculous that someone would pay over $60 for the Haunted Mansion Room Code!

i don't think i would ever buy anything off of e-bay that pertains to vmk, especially codes. for all you know, he could have already used the code, so u just payed $60 for a piece of cardboard! -heh heh- actually that would be pretty funny, but definitely wrong.

last I looked there was a set of 49 cards with several extras that was bid up to $212 ... crazy oh wait, just looked it is $272.87 now...and sold for $335. Wow that is major crazy it was like 1 of about everything.

Sadly Disney does not own eBay so people can sell whatever the heck they want! It really fun to watch people try to sell the free magic codes! Totally hilarious!

I am so addicted to VMK. I just love this game...but, purchase virtual items? Playing the games and winning credits and making new friends is what this is about. The key word here folks "virtual". :rotfl2: :tink:

any thing to get money probably....

it is awful! you don't need to buy the clothes they are going to be resold again.

WOW if ppl are paying 60m dollars for a haunted amnsion room code than I should trade mine. I have 4 codes that I have not used yet. I am so excited lol

omg!! why would somebody do that?! if they are selling it they must think that people are idiots, and if somebody buys it that means that they're an idiot to but it!! It's just a website! if you are that desperate to get codes and stuff then you need to get a new hobby
(oh, and if you did buy it and you are reading this, scratch out the thing about you being an idiot. It helped out the drama. lol)

I don't know about buying "virtual items" but I've purchased a couple cards on eBay and used the codes in the game. I think it's pretty similar to buying a baseball card or any other collectible on eBay.

i have watched these things for quite a while now, holiday quest always sells for over 50 bucks LOL and haunted sets sometimes even more.

thats exactly it. People want the cards too! VMK is very clear when they say you cant sell these cards. I am guessiing right now they dont have the man power to enforce the rules. Its still wrong, but i want to meet the people that pay $300 for VMK cards.

The VMK Values say that you can't give away, trade or sell your CHARACTER. That much is very clear. I don't believe I've ever seen any restrictions on what you do with your cards. I could be wrong though.

it is written on the backs of the cards, but Disney's Ebay arm sells them and yes, they are an affiliate of disney and they dont have to sit in the park and get them either, they get cases of cards and resell them online. Although Disney may call it "against VMK values" they dont discourage it because it is more publicity for them.

Wow, you are right! I never read the fine print on the back of a card.

I wonder if there some legal interpretation of the disclaimer that we aren't understanding. To me, cards are for trading. And obviously, the "virtual prizes" themselves are completely transferable. That's half the fun of having stuff on VMK, to trade it.

Weird

Wow! I never realized that you could NOT sell these cards per VMK. I told my oldest son (who does not play VMK) that he could sell his full set of quest cards on ebay to make some money. I was thinking maybe he could get $50 or so - but $300?? Holy Cow!! But I guess now, knowing what I do, that he shouldn't sell them and should just give them over to his mother - LOL!

its very easy for VMK to track down these players and ban their IP. All they need is an email from the seller, maybe in the form of an "innocent asked question from an ebayer" and they will have your ip addy. They check their database and look for that ip addy and BOOM. A ban till 2015 will ensue! Be careful!!

actually, if you trade quest items, you are specifically breaking the rules stated on the back of the card, so they should ban anyone who does so. And the only reason I say this is because SO MANY bans are for SUCH stupid reasons. At least this ban has legal backing.

i have numerous times tried to win the haunted mansion cards, but would only bid as much as $50... . my DS is trying to make a maze of rooms and really wants the card. and now that they no longer offer them at WDW or Dl the only way to get them is trade, but only if you have tons of rare stuff to offer or buy them. he's a kid.. he doesnt have any rare stuff... so what's a mother to do...lol. the things we do for our kids... unfortunately the prices of those cards have sky rocketed, and i have been outbid at the last second son several of them.

I agree. I just bought a card for the first time from ebay but I only paid a few dollars. I wouldn't pay no outrageous amount like some people do. The seller emailed me the code then mailed me the actual card to add to my collection. The only harm I see is sellers ripping people off, but alot of buyers are willing to pay the price. :dumbo: I heart dumbo...oh I mean love...dang you VMK!
