I thought about this thread this weekend. I was out washing artifacts with some other folks and one of the ladies informed me she had lost 10 years of her life.
She's been cultivating the friendship of a large black snake, in hopes that it will keep away rats and mice. Well, she was out in her garden and went to pick up the hose. She said she touched it and realized what she was about to pick up was NOT the hose!
Apparently both she and the snake were terrified by the experience. She's still wondering how she can make it up to the snake, who, amazingly, didn't strike at her, but just slithered rapidly away, no doubt muttering under its breath.
