We just booked a CA vacation for next Feb vacation thru my moms timeshare (Marriot) and will be staying at the Newport Beach Coast Villas.:cloud9: I am soooooo excited b/c i haven't been to CA in 10 years, and i absolutely LOVE it there. I was going to originially move there - but then i met my dh! :confused3 I have about 80% of my family in the Anahiem, Garden Grove, Venice Beach area, so this will be AWESOME, not to mention that it will be my dd's first trip out there (she is 6) and we will be going to CA Disneyland for a couple days (my uncle only lives 1 mile from disneyland) - which i have such fond memories of from when i was a kid (we use to go to CA every 2 yrs to visit family when i was a kid).. This is gonna ROCK..

Sorry for rambleing, just had to come here and get my excitement out! Now i can go over and read all the CA forums! :woohoo:

wow... I bet you can hardly wait til Feb. When we went to Calif in 2004 I too started planning a year ahead. My husband thought I was nuts. I grew up and lived most of my life in Garden Grove so I had our itinerary planned almost to the minute. I'm almost serious. We drove from NW Florida. Stopped in Texas first night and Laughlin NV the next. Once we we in CA we went to Disneyland and California Adventure 3 days. Drove to San Jose (Winchester Mystery House) San Francisco (Golden Gate Bridge) , Lake Tahoe (Ponderosa) South Lake Tahoe, spent the night at Caesars Palace. Then to Mono Lake, Bodie ghost town, Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks... a few stops in between then back to OC and more Disneyland. On the way home we went to Las Vegas, then the Grand Canyon, then the origianl Dr Pepper bottling plant in Texas...And all this in less than 2 weeks! My husband can't wait to go back. I'm already planning for our 2009 trip!

I bet you can't wait to Feb gets here. I bet your daughter is just going to love SC. We will be there ourselves next week. :)

Hi guys! Yes, i am still very excited for this trip.. it's been so long since i have been there!! I realized that the last time i was at Disneyland, was when Splash Mt. opened and i had to wait over 2 1/2 hrs to ride! I was 11 or 12 i think.. 1989.
My dd is excited too, but we have these other two vacations to go first.. WDW in November, and then our first cruise in Dec!

We just went and had so much fun. We did DL and CA for two days and a day at Knott's Berry Farm. If doing it over again, I would have skipped Knott's and done three days at Disney/Ca Adenture.

Thanks Carly! I am not planning on doing Knotts, since i have read many bad reviews.. I went when i was a kid, but i would rather just do Disney..
I am planning on 2 days - one at DCA, and one at DLP.

Not that Knott's was necessarily bad, but my DS is 3 1/2 and 41 1/2 inches tall, he could do everything at Disney, only one ride had a higher height limit (Indiana Jones at 46 inches). A few rides at California Adventure he could not go on, but there was so much kid stuff that it did not matter at all, he loved the bumper cars, all the bug rides, Monsters, Inc, etc. Knott's had most of their rides with a high height limit. Then some of the kid rides were closed. My dad said he was getting a 3 or 5 day hopper next time we go, we had that much fun at the Disney Parks!
