I cannot believe my luck. Friday afternoon I got the idea that it was time to go back to Florida. Afterall, it is my favorite vacation destination. But, I am a full time student and truthfully cannot really afford it. But, on Saturday, my parents got an email from their timeshare company advertising getaway deals. I looked and low and behold, orlando is on there for the week that I am off of school in April before I start a new semester. The deal? One bedroom villa with full kitchen for $200. Well, you can't say no to that.

then I thougt, yeah, well the airfare will probably kill me from Western Canada. Nope, I got full return for $550 (this is a good deal). Then I thought, well rental car - got one for the week for $100 (plus taxes, of course).

Plus, I already have my tickets for both universal and disney bought and paid for (have had them for two years ready to use), so really, what is stopping me?

Well, then I started thinking - I really can't afford this. It is far beyond the budget of a student. I couldn't find anybody to travel with me anyways, but I don't mind travelling solo - have done it many times. This morning, I got a call for a part time student nursing position for the summer, making very good money. I would still work my part time job where I am currently employed and I could potentially afford to go - actually, I would make the money back in two weeks of working. I just can't say no. Plus, I got a scholarship for September to help pay for school. It has been a good day.

This trip is a sanity break for me. I am going hard to finish school earlier than anticipated. I am so excited - I cannot wait to see Spiderman again, ride the Mummy again, see Wolverine. The list is endless. I am super excited and I find that I am hardly able to contain it.

Anyways, just thought I would share the great news with everyone.....

 :bounce: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

How AWESOME for you! :Pinkbounc

Life is short...and it sounds like you're making the most of it! :thumbsup2

Now, the only thing is...Spiderman is actually taken, so you'll just have to focus on Wolverine! :rolleyes1

I'm sure if you'd like to get together with some us Dis'ers when you're down, that could be arranged and you would hardly notice you were flying solo! party:

Enjoy the anticipation! :woohoo:

What week are you going?

Parks stay open until 10pm April 8-22, and I think they'll have fireworks.

Wow, what a great post....

I totally can relate, ChisJo. I lost both my parents and my 15 year job 3 years ago and my dream of going back to Orlando went with them. I wanted to go back sooooo bad but thought it was just OUT of my hands....

I recently became GAINFULLY employed in broadcasting again and the week I started working I asked Human Resources "how soon can I go on vacation"???? She looked at me like I was out of my mind!

I was serious! I wanted to see Spidey, the Hulk, heck I just wanted to GET AWAY!. I went to work on it and got a VERY similar deal with a timeshare and now I'm on my way!

Enjoy your trip, I know I will enjoy mine, and remember YOU DESERVE IT!! :cheer2:

Congratulations... You've got to get lucky sometimes :thumbsup2 I wish I could get my airfare for $550... I won't say how much it's costing me from Australia ;) Still it will be worth every last cent
