OMG! Scared!!

Hi All!
We are headed to Universal IOA for a day of Big Kid fun, and I (living in Maine) had NO idea that it was also Mardi Gras the same time as Feb. break... how on earth do we handle the crowds?? I am quite confident around at WDW parks/crowds, but IOA is unfamiliar territory, only being there once.... HELP!! We are staying at the Poly, but we were going to buy the 'fastpass' extra band to speed things up a bit... TIPS!! Help!!

Which days are you visiting? Not all days are busy so knowing which days would help. Mardi Gras only affects the crowds at the Studios and only the evenings when concerts are being staged. IOA doesn't generally experience a huge increase but again...it depends on your days.

We were planning on going on 2/21 (which I now realize is fat tuesday!) Thoughts??

Nothing goes on during the week of Mardi Gras inside the parks. The parade and concerts are on the weekends...not during the week. Some of the CityWalk clubs have drink specials for Fat Tuesday but that's about it.
