Ok, so I just called Periwig's and made appts for manicures for myself, FMIL and FAIL's (Future Aunt's in Laws).
Then I tried making a waxing appt. (just arms, eyebrow, lip and chin) and was told they don't do any waxing on property anymore!!!

Eek! She said I either have to go off property or get it done before we come down...well, we're leaving home a week before the wedding (driving down) so that won't work...

Now I need to find a place I can go to that's reputable etc...

HELP!! I'm hoping Tracy or someone who is local could give me the name of a place or two that is close to property?

Or if anyone can help....

Please?

Thanks!

what about the Swan?? I know Carrie had a not so good wax there but maybe that was an off day...(yikes).. I don't think that is considered "on property"

Thanks Betsy!....I actually just checked them on-line to see...but the prices for what I need are outrageous!
I'm not even sure now what Periwig's would have charged, but $20 for lip, $20or chin, $25 for eyebrow?

I'm looking now at the hotels by DTD and hoping there might be something there?

Hoping Tracy might now somewhere that's not too far away...we have our car, but I don't want to get lost and spend the half the day finding it and finding our way back...

sigh....

Lori - I go to a place near my house but it's about 35 mins away from Disney. I will ask some of my friends who live near Disney on where to go. I mean, there are a million nail salons in strip malls near the parks - and they're cheap!

Mostly if you're just doing lips and stuff.. it should be super cheap. Let me ask around.. unless you want to drive all the way out to my neck of the woods?

Tracy-
That's a bit too far I think...but maybe not, if I can't find anything else..

YEAH!! That's what I mean...one of those strip mall places!! I knew there would be lots near WDW, I just have no idea where to start looking!

If you could ask your friends who live nearer to the park and let me know I'd sooo appreciate it!

I'm thinking this would be of help to future Disney brides as well....

Thanks Tracy! :flower3:

After reading about Carrie's experience at the swan/dolphin I would skip that...

If it were me I would go to the 720 Salon in Celebration. Its really not far, maybe a five min cab ride from the MK.

Their website is kind of sketchy looking but I promise its a really nice place. We always go there for haircuts. I can't comment on the waxing but I am sure its fine. Their prices are also quite a bit less then the ones you posted.

What happened to Carrie at the S&D spa? lol Now I need to know.

We really need some on site waxing, cant be risking Chewbaca eyebrows for the wedding shots. :lmao:

It just sounded as though she didn't have the most amazing experience. Ok so it sounded horrible. I know her TR is really really really really long. But if you haven't read it its kind of fun reading and very informative.

Lori - there's a place I used to go to in Hunters Creek - it's about 10 min drive from WDW. When are you planning on doing this? If its on a weekend, maybe I can take you there so you don't get lost. Let me know your dates and we can see if that works for both of us.

Here's a link to just the post with my vendor reviews - including waxing - so you don't have to slog through my really really really really long trip report.

But I'm sure eyebrow/lip waxing at the Mandara Spa would not be such a disaster. Leg waxing is, well, a whole other ball of wax (ba da bump)! :rotfl:

eventually I will read the whole trip report, but I ust spent a few hours combing through the Passporter so now I need to get off my rear and go for a walk.....so i can stuff myself into a white dress

Oh good gravy that was bad! LOL :lmao:

I'm glad Lori brought this up - I was thinking about doing eyebrow waxing at my place in Mass. for myself on Oct 7th - do you think I could get to the 12th and just pluck the strays? Or would it be better to try a place down there? :confused3

Sorry to pirate:!

For eyebrows, I think if you already have a place that does them the way you like, USE IT! As you say, you can just pluck the strays (if you even get them in that short a time).

There are so many different eyebrow shapes (and levels of thickness) that, if you're picky about getting a certain look, you might not wanna chance it with a new person that close to the wedding.

I freaked out the same way you did when I found out waxing was no longer done on property. The girl at the Spa at Saratoga Springs recommended Salon Salon in LBV to me b/c it's where she goes for those services and let me tell you it was as great an experience as waxing can be. The salon is extremely clean and professional and ask for Jennifer-- she's a doll and really knows what she's doing! My brows looked perfect for the wedding! (and I actually now will only get them done with her when we make w/e trips to Orlando) Plus it's only $15 for brow, lip, or chin- totally reasonable and they are located right off property!
Their website is www.salonsalonhair.com. I can assure you you'll be in good hands if you go there! :thumbsup2

We pedi's, acrylic nails and waxing done at a place in Little Lake Bryan beside Panera Bread (on your way to the Premium Outlet mall, across from the hotel complex and Golden Corral). We thought it was sketch but was really good.

Ok, so I made an appt at that 720 Salon...

I'll do a vendor review of everyone when I get back. The lady Diane who answered the phone seemed very nice.

If I didn't go with them, I guess I would have gone with Salon Salon.....I'm still not 100% sure, but I'm sure it will be fine. I'm not getting my eyebrows done there so as long as they don't burn me with the wax (that happened to me once), it's all good!:rotfl:

Thanks all for your help!:flower3:

salon 720 is great... but expensive. Diane is a sweetie... I spent half my disney paycheck in there once a month!

It's the cheapest place I could find actually. Originally I had posted here looking for places from people who might live locally, and of the names/places I was given, they were the cheapest...

I'd be interested to know if you know of anyone else close to property?

My daughter goes to UCF and is a CM at Disney and she uses Salon Salon. They are WONDERFUL. They are located right down the road from Crossroads in the same strip mall that has the Steak n Shake.

If you google them you can find their website easily.
