Well, I initially logged in for my son and then I got hooked. I started playing the fireworks game at the office and got pretty good at it. My DD is now interested in joining the VMK so I was trying to show her how to score well on the fireworks game and OMG, my home computer is so slow, you can't even get your cursor to change the icon in time to get an "opppss", LOL. I tried the Jungle Cruise and Pirates Cruise game and it is the same problem. We meet all the system requirements... why can't we play at home???? Our computer isn't THAT old, LOL.

Hellllpppppppppp.......

Try shutting off the sound for your character. You do that by clicking on the shirt (as if to change clothes) and then click on the "Sound" tab. I have all three options disabled. That should improve your score a bit.

You can do other things to your browser too that sometimes speed things up like changing the cache size (maybe even setting it to zero), not enabling Java and/or JavaScript and stuff like that. Sometimes the game gets a little funky looking and acting when you shut off the Java stuff, I've just learned to live with it.

I use the Safari browser on a Mac but this kind of tweaking should work for any browser and any computer.

Hey there!

Thanks for the advice. It did help, but still not enough. Any other ideas???? I am totally frustrated!

If you use dial-up there's not a whole lot you can do. :( They have stated they simply don't support dial-up.

Having said that - make sure you have all apps turned off. If you have a Kodak EasyShare camera, make sure you disable their program! That Kodak s/w is really hard to turn off completely, but at least turn it off in your systray.(over by the clock)

Other things that might show up (and be running) are QuickTime, WinZip - stuff like that. Norton Anti-Virus also uses a lot of system resources, which will slow up your system. You can't play without it though (I got a virus from the game back in late May/early June). However, you might want to think about using a different type. AVG doesn't seem to slow things down nearly as much & you can use a free version.

Hey there!

Nope, not on dial up :)

I will check to see if shutting down other applications works... sigh....

Hi Dagny,

Welcome to the world of VMK ;)

My daughter also had cable but, couldn't play the games. Her computer was just too old and there were not enough system resources or memory to run them.
