for the third week of May 2009, and sites are $95 a night!!! We will be staying 9 nights and this will be our first Fort Wilderness trip, is it worth the the money? We will be pulling a 32ft fifth wheel about 600 miles one way so we will be spending more in gas too.

Sounds like you got a premium site. Yes, the new sites are high. You might want to look into AAA and see if you can get a discount.

Yes, that's "regular" season, rates are pretty high then. There should be a AAA discount then though.

Ways to save a little:

- Pick a time that's "value" season.
- Pass on "preferred" and "premium" sites, it's $15 a night to go from "full hookup" to premium.
- Get a AAA discount. It's 20% during value season. Way worth getting if you can. Discount is done in blocks, it's not automatic.

Edit:
What Carol said, she's a faster typer....

Oh yeah, to answer your first question, "is it worth it?" Yes.

And I realized you said May, I read March first time. Fixed my comments above.

And it's $5 difference from full hookup to preferred. Not much, but it's $35 over a 7 day stay...

I did book a preferred site, how much difference is between preferred and full hook up?

Keep the ressie as is. When discounts are offered, call right away and see if it will apply to you.

First Fort trip,,will it be worth it, ABSOLUTELY ! :thumbsup2
Is it worth the money(95.00) per night,,no way,,but it's Disney, and if you want to do Disney, then you pay.
As for us personally,,we love the Fort and doing Disney , so we will continue to pay the high dollar prices like everyone else.

Don't forget...part of that nightly fee includes all transportation (unless you choose to drive to the parks) and that can save a few $$ in time and gas. Makes things a little more relaxed not having to worry about getting in the car and figuring out how to get from place to place, parking, etc.

For us, using Disney transportation consumed much more of our time than in the past using our own vehicle. Also, the bus trips were anything but relaxing since we usually stood, hanging onto the poles for dear life, crammed in like sardines next to everyone else who had just spent the day sweating out a few gallons of water -- some of whom had failed to bathe before starting their day. :crazy2:

Disney will increase rates until people stop paying them. I know my family for one, will be taking a lot fewer trips because of their new pricing schedule.

Looking into booking in April 09 due to our schedules.... 1190$ for a premium. Still in sticker shock. Priced the Lodge also was 350 a night. Good Grief... Disney is pricing it's way out for me.. We wanted to get the kid's there 1 more time before it's not cool. KWIM. really... 95$ for a paved pad with EWSC in a decent spot?
Will I book it? Probably

Like someone said above. AAA is great. I went thru Rhonda @ Dreams Unlimited. Our trip is scheduled for June 09. When she origianlly booked our res'ies, it was $1400+ for 13 nights. She was just able to get my AAA discount and the price dropped down to around $775. BIG SAVINGS!! :thumbsup2

Oh and it is a Preferred site.

Booked my preferred site for June 09 through Rhonda last night. She's the best and the only way to go IMHO. Also, booked POP for my (adult) kids and grandkids for that same time (they aren't staying in 5r with us). She got me AAA for FW and looking into POP. Can't wait for June!
