Im sitting here in a state of shock. After deliberating forever over going to WDW in September next year Ive just gone and bought seats to fly out for my 40th from the 25th May to 10th June.

I think I may have gone slightly insane but everyone was raving about how bad the flight prices were next year and it allows us to travel on the new Virgin airbus both ways from Gatwick and got the tickets (M+M)for £468 each for economy - which I think isnt too bad.

just got off the phone to Disney and have booked OKW for 9 days - till 2nd to take account of free dining - all i need to do now is find a (very cheap but cheerful) place to stay offsite for the rest.

Anyone got any ideas - at this stage wont be driving so will need free connections to disney/non disney parks?

Congrats - Happy planning!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

:banana:Congrats. May you have a wonderful time planning and counting down the days until your celebration.:wizard:

Well done getting booked.

So much choice for offsite hotels but I have no idea about transport, we always have a car.
These are on Monarch.co.uk, prices less 5% with Quidco.
We stayed here 3 times Best Western Lakeside, Maingate West
Room x 8 nights x £24.60 = £196.80

stayed here 3 times
Country Inn & Suites Lakes Buena Vista
Room x 8 nights x £33.05 = £264.40

Not an area I like but a good price (DIS have this on offer at $99+tax/night)
Coco Key Hotel and Water Resort International Drive Area
Room x 8 nights x £35.22 = £281.76

Loads more on there, have a look.

That coco key resort has bad reviews, apparently aircon is bad and poorly renovated rooms from old hotel , and waterpark closes half of it if its not busy!

Thanks guys for all your help!

Wayne I will definitely look into these - its great to get someones opinion who has actually been somewhere

Thanks

Jim

Do some research and ask anything you want to know.:thumbsup2

Stayed at the Comfort Inn Universal on I-Drive in June and liked that, free shuttles to Disney and Universal - although we just walked to Universal, only took about 20 minutes at a leasurely pace. Pool stayed open all night and the breakfast in the morning was decent. Can't remember how much it cost per night though becasue we got it in a package with the flights for £340, so it can't be expensive.

Planning on staying at Econo Lodge next March, I'll see how that is.

Thanks for that Tip Wayne!!

I just found Embassy Suites LBV for 376 with breakfast and evening cocktails thrown in. to me this would absord some of the costs of living offsite. Has anyone had any experience as the trip advisor reports look cool.

Thanks

Jim

congrats! Planning has to be the worst part :< Good luck with it

I think it was Embassy suites we considered at Easter, I deleted the email response so not 100% sure, I asked how much for internet in the room, their reply $10/day so stayed at Hampton Inn LBV instead with free access. I wish hotel would understand they lose booking over a simple thing.

Planning is the best part of the holiday, thats why I have been on here helping for 7 years:rotfl2:

I have to agree re planning - i was 2 years planning our disneymoon so now really excited about being under pressure to get everything booked up for less than 9 months time. You wait till ADR booking starts!!! (is it still 7 months access or those staying onsite? hehehe)

Hi StockyJim

Congratulations!!!! :banana::banana:

Can I ask how you know you will be flying on a new Virgin Airbus? Have they confirmed that they planes will be used on the LGW/MCO routes?

Hi Sara

I booked direct through Virgin and you can look at what plane you will be flying on when you book

I actually extended the trip another 2 days so that we flew both ways on the airbus (they have lots more 2 seats together and i like the idea of all new stuff!!)
