Okay panic mode. LOL
I do not know why, but all this time for SOME reason I was thinking we were leaving for WDW on Thursday night. I even have it on my calendar and such but for SOME reason I was thinking they had school Mon-Thurs this week and we left Thurs night. Don't ask me why I thought that!

But we actually leave Wed night... so I lost a day! A day of preparing everything (leaving DH here again) and packing and getting all errands/etc. done... packing has to be secretly because it's a surprise for the kids and I can't give it away by packing right in front of them!

ack, I lost a day... *panic* LOL

Wait a minute......... that's one less day until WDW! :teeth:

If you need an extra day you can have one of mine. I don't think the days are moving for me right now, so I would be happy to unload one. ;)

19 more to go! Anyone else need a day? Step right up!

Oh, I have soooo done that before.

Have fun on your trip, don't worry you'll get it all done by then!

You have done that before? Okay I feel better. I feel like such a dork- I mean it's on my calendar, I have the countdown timer right there on my posts, etc. I can't believe the entire time I was thinking we left on Thursday night! I think I even posted on a few threads mentioning we leave on Thursday night! LOL

Ohhh,, so much to do, so little time. But this is the fun part for me actually. The planning part is fun too but I got that done way early... now I've just been waiting for the packing phase. :goodvibes

The good news is that although the Incredibles costumes didn't work out (ordered online and didn't fit right on any of us except for oldest daughter)- I can return those because I ordered more costumes that WILL work. I'm just going to wear a Halloween shirt but the kids are excited about their halloween costumes (which they think they are just going to wear to our church's fall festival on Halloween LOL The trip is still a surprise for them). My oldest is a MAJOR stitch fan- and she's going to be stitch. Didn't even bother her that I told her the receipt says it's a BOY costume. LOL And my son is going to be a Power Rangers... they are stoked about their costumes this year! (my youngest will ofcourse just take her pick of her princess costumes- whatever suits her fancy at the time. Princesses or tink)

My oldest cracked me up earlier but I had to keep a straight face. I was commenting that I got the costume a little big (fits her fine but I know it will fit her next year- I don't expect any huge growth spurts with her- she's already almost as tall as me and her growing has slowed way down the past few years... partly because of her age and probably partly due to ADHD medicine :( ) -- anyway, when I mentioned she can probably wear it next year too- she said oh, wouldn't it be neat if next year we can go to Disney on Halloween? I could wear the stitch costume on Stitch's ride!!!!!

I was all cool like oh baby, we probably won't go at that time next year- we have the Disney cruise already planned for May/June- remember?

HAHA -little does she know that on Friday night she'll be doing exactly that.. riding stitch with the stitch costume on. This surprise thing is new to me- and HARD to keep a secret from the kids... but kinda fun! LOL

Anywho- better start packing! Kids finally asleep. Woohoo! Disney here we come!

Still haven't received my DME tags though... is there a number I can call about that tomorrow? I was thinking maybe I could call and still get them in time, but now that I realize we're leaving Wed... probably not. :(

OMG I'm seriously losing it!
I just went to look at my paperwork to make SURE it says 28th- since I've been thinking Thursday all along I got to thinking maybe we really are going 29th-3rd and I just messed up when I made the reservations because I thought they were going to school Mon-Thurs this week.... and then realized (are you ready for this???)....... all this bellyaching for a week or so about maybe not getting DME tags and I ALREADY GOT THEM!

*sigh*
I guess since we kept getting the paperwork on this trip over and over (what is up with that anyway? Every trip we get the paperwork like 5-6 times- I swear I have a big pile of envies from them here LOL) that I didn't realize one of them was the DME tags!

Good grief..... all that worrying for nothing. LOL this probably happened because after I knew I'd paid and already had the paperwork with the flight tickets in it- after that I just kept putting the envies up without even opening them- that way the kids wouldn't notice. We usually get our mail right when we get home from me picking the kids up from school. My kids (especially the oldest) are nosey and also know what Disney envies look like. I guess in my rush to hide the envie I didn't realize it was the DME tags! What a dork I am! But this is great!

I just realized ME put DD5's tags and ME ticket in a SEPERATE book from the other 4 of us...when I found HERS in a pile of would be soon TRASH!@!! :earseek: OMG my 5 yo would have to take a cab to the Poly ALONE!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They must only put 4 in a book and we have 5 in our family!!

Just put our Magic Tags, the cute 3d castle ones, on our luggage tonight WHILE trying to get DH to sing the "BEAST" part of "Something there that wasn't there before" song from BB movie, I was Belle of course...he was amused

It was a red-eye flight, and we were in the midst of packing for the flight the NEXT morning at 6a.m.
For some reason, one of us decided to look at the tickets again. Boy did we scramble. I actually had to get a loan from my parents as we had been planning on picking up paychecks the next day and going to the bank and buying travelers checks!

LOL- cute!
But I'm so glad you posted this! Good grief where is my head!?!! I actually just pulled out some yellow tags to put on our luggage and stuck the envie BACK IN THE LOCKED CABINET TO LEAVE HERE AT HOME! NOT putting it with the paperwork and tickets and such I'm taking with me. I would have went without the "tickets" to ride DME! If you hadn't posted this to remind me DUH, that I'd need more than just the yellow tags on the luggage. Geesh.... where is my head?

Dana... omg, I would have freaked out! Not only do we live about 1.5hrs from the airport but I *usually* pack the night before (since so much of it is stuff we use daily so it's not like I can pack it up weeks before) and I so wouldn't have been ready to go in time! Fortunately we always have to fly out late at night, so we shouldn't ever have that mishap. But I am sure glad I didn't keep thinking we were leaving Thursday only to get there Thursday night and realize from the tickets (or on Wed night when I chose the seats online) that we'd missed our flight already! That would be disastrous... we wouldn't go. :(

I hope you have wonderful trip bibbidy. I think you need a vacation after all this vacation planning. I'm going nuts too since I'm trying to get ready for a wedding and a disney trip. At least its a good thing I can't sleep before a trip since the last of the packing will be done after the reception and before we leave for the airport at 6am. Again, have wonderful time and be sure to take of pic of your kids' faces when they realize they are going to disney.

We were going somewhere and my mom thought we were flying out of a very small airport 20 minutes from our house. We were supposed to leave at 6am and she woke up at 4:30am and showered and stuff. She had a weird feeling about something so she went to look at the tickets and noticed that my sister who was 5 at the time was flying out of a DIFFERENT airport (Flying out of JFK which is about 45 min from my house without traffic). So she started freaking out that my sister was supposed to be traveling alone then she looked and we were ALL flying out of the other airport. She woke up my dad, called the car service and asked if they could come sooner (about an hour sooner) and woke up me and my sister telling us to throw clothes on. I dont think I have ever gotten dressed and out of the house so fast for a weeks vacation.

Now she double checks the airport ahead of time :rotfl2:

True, but I already had all the days planned out. So I knew how many days it was- I just wasn't thinking it was starting on the right day... was thinking it started a day later. LOL

Thanks honeymo78...
I'm usually well organized and don't stress out. I get excited- but not stressed. I always plan things ahead of time and just wash clothes/etc. a few days before and pack it all up the night before. That's how I do things even when packing for us to go "camping" (in the RV it's not really camping LOL) -so it's not the excitement of the trip... that's just how I prefer, wait till the last night to pack. I hate packing early and then having to dig things out to use before we leave- then potentially forgetting to pack it up again! LOL

But anyway- this time apparently..... um, not so organized. LOL It's the surprise thing... it has me frazzled. I'm not used to keeping the trip a secret! LOL

Too funny! We'll be there on Wednesday, too, also staying at ASMo! AND....we haven't told our kids either!! :rotfl: I totally know what you are going through with the packing in secret! It's not easy! Luckily, we are having a change of seasons, so I have piles of clothing in my room anyway...the kids don't know the difference!

Have a great time...maybe we'll bump into you at ASMo...we're a group of 11...two families. Ours is me (the frazzled red-head), my dh, my mom, and my two boys, ages 10 and 6 (cute little red-head with a bunch of teeth missing) and our friends....mom (the frazzled blonde) and dad, her mom, and three cute boys, ages 13, 10, and 7. We "confirmed" through ASMo today that we'll be in 2 sets of adjoining rooms in Toy Story.

Have fun!
Marcy
