OMG I know Jesse James' mistress!

Have you never watched a pornographic movie? Your partner, your kids? I'd find it hard to believe that both questions would be a "no". So it's okay to watch (voyeur), but not okay on the flip side?

I cannot tell you how much I disagree about this statement, I wouldn't exactly call Jimmy Buffet an ideal persona. I have tattoos, and I've never regretted any of them (nor my piercings).

I have no doubt that you disagree with my statement, however do not expect to plaster yourself with excessive tattoos and piercings and not have others formulate an opinion. People make judgements for good or for ill every day. One doesn't do things that call attention to themselves and then complain that people notice. As for the porn; its exhibitionistic and in this day and age, DANGEROUS.

Well the ones I know are more infamous than famous.

Pamala Rogers was a teacher in the school system I went to.

For those who don't remember her, here's an article to jog your memory. She got my hometown on national news many times:

And Mary Winkler also lived in my hometown. Here's her article.

Know what else, homosexuality was once listed as a mental disorder.

Find and dandy, but as of right now, exhibitionism (exposing oneself to others with or without their consent) is considered abnormal. Maybe they'll change it eventually. Who knows? The DSM-V is currently way past due.

I think she means when infidelity, cheating and all the associated bad behaviors weren't celebrated by the media.

Exactly. It seems like people used to be ashamed if they had an affair, now they sell their story to the media. Gross.

:thumbsup2 I totally agree.

I don't think anyone can honestly make a good, STRONG case for porn being beneficial to society.

I took a sociology class once, that centered around gender and gender roles, and its amazing how pornography trickles down through advertising, television, all the way to what we wear, and not in a way that is beneficial to societies view of women. Pornography and sexual fetishes displayed within it are carried over to societies influence over the "ideal body" in women. I wish everyone could hear that lecture, it was incredibly enlightening.

I grew up across the street from The People's Temple in California, also known as the Jim Jones church. He was that cult leader that orchestrated a mass murder of his followers in Guyana. I was terrified of him! I could hear him scream and cuss during his church services all the way from our front yard. We made friends with a child that attended that church. He told us some terrible stories. Then one day, they packed up and left. I always wonder if that kid lived.

I have never seen a thread go so horribly awry so quickly. And I'm not even sure how it happened.

Let's define normal, without projections or reading into what we think a poster might have meant.

# conforming with or constituting a norm or standard or level or type or social norm; not abnormal; "serve wine at normal room temperature"; "normal ...
# in accordance with scientific laws
# being approximately average or within certain limits in e.g. intelligence and development; "a perfectly normal child"; "of normal intelligence"; "the most normal person I've ever met"

Maybe not beneficial, but are you implying its harmful? How so?
Umm..yeah??

It can become an addiction, it can destroy marriages and relationships. Those are only two but they're pretty serious issues to me.

OMG! That is an incredible story. I remember exactly where I was when I heard about this. I can picture myself sitting in the living room of our apartment reading Newsweek and Time magazine. Wondering where that child is much be haunting. There must be a website somewhere with the deceased and the survivors.

Get real. The woman in question makes porn at her house and puts it on the web. She has tattoos on her forehead. She has had photos taken in Nazi gear. There is no way you can say she is "normal". If she is normal, please call me abnormal. :sad2:

Thank you! I totally agree.
